I just discovered you guys....
Hope that's okay.....
I've been posting WAY TOO MUCH at sites similar to this since I was probably 10. The weird thing is.... I actually bond to the people I get to know. Maybe silly, since we never actually "meet" at all, but it's not unlike "pen pals" in days before the net. I feel like I know them, and they me. And after some personal stuff gets shared, a few prayers for each other... there is a bond. Whenever I've needed to "move on" (for whatever the reason), I've grieved a bit. Silly as that may seem.
Anyway, after a departure from CF I'd rather not discuss and and absence of nearly 2 years, I "returned" to CF a few months ago - and I'm still finding my way around. Like before, I've stuck to Theology forums because that's where my interests and hopes lie, and in the Lutheran forum since, while away, I officially became Lutheran. A few old friends are still here, many are gone. I've made a few new ones and hope to make more. CF is MUCH smaller now (that's both good and bad) and I'm blessedly "out of the loop" for the inner dynamics of the site (a really good thing), a little older, a little humbler (a few knocks in life will do that), still growing and learning and hoping I can return favors.
This forum seems pretty open to "conservative" Christians (I think my LCMS Lutheran status qualifies me) - regardless of denomination. I HOPE so (PM me if otherwise). CF use to have a large number of STRONG, very conservative Calvinists. I got along very well with them. It seems less so now. The Catholics at CF seem far more numerous than before but less, well... warriors than before. There is a steady flow of posters in and out. And some, like me, who return.
To those of you I remember from before, I'm glad to see you still here! To my new friends and yet-to-be friends, thanks! And to the MANY that just "disappeared" (all about the same time I did), I miss you.
