Great show, lost some of its touch though when Colonel Blake, Frank Burns, and Trapper John left.

I actually like the later ones, probably because those are the ones I remember watching when they were broadcast.

One thing to remember about M.A.S.H. is that it wasn't just a comedy, it was a satire about the insanity of war, and some of the best episodes tugged at your heartstrings more than they tickled your funny bone.

Margaret was one of my favorite characters and I particularly remember an episode where her hard charging father came for a visit. He came as a soldier, while Margaret just wanted to spend some time with her daddy while in the midst of the hell of war. In the end they made a touching reconcilliation. And anyone who wasn't moved when Charles was effected to mightily by the Korean musicians who were killed, is a soulless automaton as far as I'm concerned.

If you've never seen the original movie, it's a very dark and blisteringly saterical social comment on VietNam (though set in Korea) and war in general.

Well when you plot it against the length the TV seris has existed, and the fact that most shows die out after a few years. It is pretty old.

Yes I am young... oh BTW is your hair falling out yet, old man? ;)
Hair? Oh yes I remember that stuff. That went years ago. It's the teeth and the senses I worry about now. I remember when I was a lad.....;)

I love MASH. Some of the later ones did mellow out some, but I still love them.

I always tear up when Col. Blake goes home and Radar comes in the OR to let them know of his fate. Gets me everytime!

I get my "Rascal" next week so watch out!:priest:

M*A*S*H* was my favorite show growing up.
But I changed after the military and realized there was alot more then jokes in the show.

To see kids my age.... And younger, bleeding and dying, plot points I just overlooked before.
The funnier ones were with Blake and Burns.
Potter was good too.
Winchester was good at times but the Butt of the jokes weren't funny.

None of the spinoffs were any good. It was a unique cast of charactures
and situations.
The end show was a good ending but they were way to old to be in Korea.
Not funny, but realistic.
Not many people can come out of that situation with all screws firmly in the right place.

BTW: DID he touch his nose?

Gets me, too. Absolutely the saddest episode of any sitcom I have ever seen, i think.

I love M*A*S*H the movie and tv series. Although... i generally do not like as much the later years. Winchester I don't believe is often very amusing. B.J. Honeycutt to me seems lifeless, he has nothing to say except when it's secondary dialogue to Hawkeye. Col. Potter has some great moments, though, but I do prefer Colonel Blake and Trapper John. Those early years I thought were looser, more carefree, more humor, more slapstick, just more fun. I've started collecting the DVDs and hope to have 'em all someday 'cause this show I will probably not get tired of until I'm 80, not watching everyday, of course, I'd get sick of it, maybe a few times a year I could go for a mass Mash marathon.

The Hallmark Channel usually does a MASH marathon at least once or twice a year. And they usually end with the Farewell episode, another one that will guarantee more tears from me!

Who would have though that klinger who mostly wanted to get out of Korea eventually settled down there.

Radar actually got a date with a nurse who rejected him.

Hawkeye got sent to an institution in the end for snapping

Hotlips known as Margret hoolihan admits her feelings for hawkeye
and the war ended and everyone finally got a chance to go home not before the incoming wounded.
