CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How many forms of Islam are there where the women and men pray together at mosques? It is an insult to Christians when Muslims say they think well of Jesus but deny his diety.
I need to re-phrase the first part of my question. How many forms of Islam are there where men and women pray side by side and the women and men are not seperated at mosques?

An insult is an insult when the intention is to offend. They deny His deity because that's what they believe; it's what they're told, just as you're told that Jesus is God. Who are you to tell them they're wrong?

Why shouldn't we if we disagree? The Quran says that Christians or those who equate divinity to anything besides Allah alone are wrong and the Fire will be our abode. This is the unpardonable sin of "shirk". (Christians believe in the Trinity and believe Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God).
The Quran says:
Verily God does not forgive the ascribing of divinity to anything beside Him, although He forgives any lesser sin to whomever He wills: for he who ascribes divinity to anything beside God has indeed contrived an awesome sin." [4:48]
"They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." What about Hindu's who believe in millions of gods as the manifestation of Brahman?
The same God cannot be both revealed in a Trinity and not revealed in a Trinity.
The same Jesus cannot be God as Christians believe and not God but a prophet held in high esteem as Muslims believe. The Jesus of Christians and Muslims is not the same Jesus even though Muslims like to say that He is. There is a contradiction in the very nature of Jesus and God.
Truth by it's nature is exclusive; exclusive of error. Someone's belief is wrong.

i don't know of any mosques that have co-prayers, but that is not degrading to women or to men, it's not as if the women's section is any less beautiful, etc. bryn mawr college is a lovely college that allows only women during the day, and is not "sexist". some people prefer combined activities and others seperate. it's a matter of taste and also tradition. in any case women and men probably find it easier to concentrate in mosque rather then focus on the opposite sex when they are seperated.
i can understand that you feel insulted or slighted...but really, if jesus is who you believe then what does it hurt? if muslims are not understanding then it does you no harm, and certainly jesus would not be affected or have his feelings hurt because someone did not recognize him. and think about it..muslims are probably very offended when christians claim allah is not god. i've heard christians say muslims worship the devil and call allah a demon. everyone has an opinion and it's all cool. don't let it bother you. if muslims are wrong it's no skin off gods nose..is it?

to be fair...christianity says anyone not believing their religion will burn in hell...so that's an insult to everyone non-christian. as long as christianity is not pc, how can you expect islam to be?? and in any case..who are you to say god cannot be revealed in a trinity and then not in a trinity? are you putting limitations on god..or just trying to second guess what might be god's plan?

I was responding to the statement made by Jodrey. I never denied that Christianity says that Jesus is the only way and never said I expected Islam to be pc. How can God be both a Trinity and not a Trinity at the same time? How can Jesus be both God and not God at the same time?

What a lame excuse!
What does it hurt? Zillions of Muslims are being lied to and do not have the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, that's what it hurts! Christians don't try and prove their faith by the Quran but Muslims take information that is contained in the Bible and try and make it apply to Muhammad so it is skin off Gods nose!

The point I was making in post #29 is that it makes about as much sense for Muslims to try and prove their beliefs on the Quran are right by applying them to the Bible, as it would to take "King Lear" and explain it to someone with the information gleaned from "Tom Sawyer."
