Lupin the 3rd

Out of all the anime shows to make a game out of, why did they choose Lupin the 3rd. They do have .hack, but now they are coming out with Lupin the 3rd. Come on, how about a Rurouni Kenshin RPG in America. Or maybe a FPS Cowboy Bebop, but not Lupin the 3rd. Maybe even Fooly Cooly!

In the 80s there was a laser disc coin-op game based on a lupin car chase. (sort of like Dragon's Lair, you had to move the joystick the right way when qeued or you'd die.)

Yeah, but I seriously don't like Lupin the 3rd. I think that a Rurouni Kenshin game would have been cool.

Lupin III is very popular in Japan and there is alot of anime of Lupin III done by many different people. Hayao Miyazaki even did a Lupin III movie (Castle of Cagliostro) and it's awesome. Some Lupin III stuff is better than others. Some of it is very good (like Castle of Cagliostro, which I just mentioned), some of it is so-so, and some of it is terrible.

There are already some Lupin III games in Japan (that Dragon's Lair like game mentioned is actually US only and names were changed). Lupin III was chosen for yet another game (there are already some Lupin III games in Japan) becuase he's a very popular character. There is no point in complaining about it. Franchise based games get made when the franchise becomes popular.

Not everyone here dislikes Lupin III. I happen to love some of the Lupin III anime, though I'm not very fond of the first manga series.

Also don't just Lupin III by the current TV series that showed on CN (which is actually the second Lupin III series). It's episodic and varies in quality. It also has a dub that tries too hard to update the show and takes too many liberities.

Even if you don't like any other Lupin III stuff, but love Miyazaki films, I highly recommend seeing Castle of Cagliostro in subtitles (the dub adds too much cursing, which there is very little of in the subtitles). It's a very well written and entertaining film and it has the same attention to detail that is in other Miyazaki films like Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Service. You don't have to be a fan of Lupin III to enjoy it.

I too love Lupin III, it and Princess Mononoke are the only anime's I really like.
