  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Luke 9,60
Let the dead take care of their dead

these men are clearly called the dead even if they are alive.
why the dead?
Jesus wants our eternal life... (Luke 18, 30 etc...)
if one has eternal life can Jesus call him the dead?
This is sure:
Jesus don't call the dead who wants eternal life and follows him!
Because they are alive forever...!!!!

Yes. The dead (still walking on earth) in this verse are the unsaved.

The death state, that Jesus taught, is used to illustrate the spiritually dead condition of the world in general, so he could speak of ‘the dead burying the dead,’ and the apostle Paul could refer to the woman living for sensual gratification as “dead though she is living.” (Luke 9:60; 1 Timothy 5:6; Ephesians 2:1) And since physical death discharges one from any debts or obligations existing up to that time (Roman 6:7), a Christian’s being freed or liberated from sin (Romans 6:2, 11) and from the condemnation of the Mosaic Law (Romans 7:2-6) is also likened to death, such one having ‘died’ to his former situation and obligations. The one figuratively dying in such a way, of course, is still alive physically and is now free to follow Christ as a slave to righteousness.-Romans 6:18-20; Galatians 5:1.
