Luke 21:25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;

Alright, It's literal, he's saying there will be signs, in those ways, and there will be.

People will be perplexed and confused by these signs, and Jesus is saying to look out for the signs.

Would hurricanes be a sign?

It could be if God chose to use them like that, but remember, all natural disasters, and hurricanes, and volcano eruptions etc. are the results of sin entering the world, God made the world "Very Good" which is an extreme understatement. There were no hurricanes or natural disasters in the original creation.

But if God chooses to let things happen, rest assured it's to bring people together, and make them stronger.

I have a saying, and there's a reason behind it. "Sometimes God let's things happen to make our faith in him stronger."

It could be talking about throughout all of history, but if you combine that scripture with some of the scriptures in revelations, you may find it interesting. I think the more we reach the end of time, and judgement day, the more you'll see those signs. Does that make sense?

Jesus spoke of signs and wonders in the sun, moon, stars, causing confusion; folks will be utterly perplexed. Included will be the roaring of the ocean, gigantic waves, with those living at that time utterly terrified, "for the powers of the heavens will be shaken”. Earthlings will be so frightened they will be unable to breathe. Thereafter, the arrival of the Son of Man!

Our peace is based upon the solid, unshakable Truth that we won't be here! We will have left prior to these events! Hallelujah!

Jesus was speaking to the Jews of that time, and we know what transpired in 70AD.

Paul said this.

1 Cor. 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Paul was not speaking to us or even about us.
Who did Paul say these things were examples for, and why were they examples for them?

It was coming to an end.

What would be the purpose of Jesus speaking to those people and telling them these things if they did not pertain to them?

I know, people will argue that He was speaking of the Generation that saw Israel become a Nation in 1948.

But Jesus also said this at the same time.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

My opinion is that 2nd part is easy to see happening -- the mainstream consensus view we read is supposed to be that the warming of the ocean's make storms get stronger, as just happened a lot recently in the Atlantic and Caribbean. As Christ worded it, we are to look at that 'tree' to see if many leaves are showing, and that's going to be more than just 1 or 3 leaves of course. As I think of it about 3 leaves are present, but there are a lot more than 3. More could be present and I didn't get it yet, of course. Now the signs in the heavens I've wondered about many times, and not superficially, since my main hobby is following astronomy/astrophysics. There are so many possibilities. It could be something that He foresaw that our increasing ability to observe would reveal to us, or instead a more commonplace idea like a major easy to see thing anyone could see easily, like bright comets, etc. So, that could be easy to see, or instead something that watchers (astronomers) would tend to see, and we'd have to hear about it from them, either one. It could be much closer, like in our atmosphere, like a set of meteor showers or bright meteors or unusually strong sun spots or unusually strong auroras that go far from the poles and become visible everywhere, or such. So many possibilities. Or, even it could be more metaphorical somehow, but I only keep this as yet another option, not my main guesses. Also, we know we always want to be ready of course since no one knows what day is their last day normally.

I agree that the second part does seem to be happening. And Yes it could be metaphoric as well, and i have considered that. Thanks for all the info
