I keep trying to be a part of this particular forum, so in doing that, I will post this one I made last night of a candle we've been lighting. To me, it almost appears semi-professional, but to others here, probably garbage.

Okay, BUMP!

Personally I think this is a beautiful photo. I guess it depends what you are looking for in your photography bartony.

I tend to go for what pleases me and in so doing I hope others like to look at it too.

I think sometimes we can be too critical of our own work instead of just enjoying what we like about it

Hello, Atewolf! It's so good to be "talked" to here. I was beginning to think my computer had cyberbreath!:D

Thanks for a very nice compliment. I'm still learning some of the bells and whistles of the Kodak Digital, and just got the tripod last week. I didn't realize a tripod helps out so much. I can center things or off-center them, steady it up, lots of things the tripod will help with. I've made a few that were handshake blurred, and knew then and there, I had best invest in a 'pod!;)

Again, so nice to meet you
Tony

A tripod is great but dont forsake your hand held shots especially when you are getting results like this. It is an art after all and its the effect you are trying to create that matters.

My cousin has had a long life of taking a few pics and if you are interested in technical stuff his wee web site might be worth a look. Click here

God Bless you Brother :)

Thanks, all. I must've wiped this subscribed thread from my faves, as I just now came back and found you guys.

I do disagree pretty heavily about digital cams. I'm finding I'm getting far better quality from this type camera than I did my old 35mm clunker. When they are printed up, they are really great. Being able to edit exposure, contrast, all that, makes it easy to do on a computer what had to be done by fiddling with exposure settings on the cam, then in developing. I may have used my 35mm for the last time!
As I said earlier, I do have it on low quality to conserve space. Guess I could crank that back up.
