  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've talked about this before but the recent support by President Obama for the mosque just steps away from "ground zero" in Lower Manhattan brings up the question again. When you walk down the street and meet a Muslim indivdual you have no idea whether he or she is a moderate Muslim who could be your friend or a radical Muslim who would love to kill you in the name of Allah as an "Infidel".

The war on terrorism is not just in Iraq and Afganistan, it's right here on our soil. How do we respond to Muslims?

Love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you.

That is about all we can do, and who knows some may even come to true salvation.

Befriend them, give and receive hospitality. Build personal rapport with them, while praying for God to open their hearts. They're people who need salvation, too. Chances are excellent that a Muslim in this country will not be a terrorist. But even if he is, and you're able to show him love and he comes to Christ, that's the best kind of intervention because saving his soul means saving multiple lives as well.

There are testimonies out there of people, former muslims, that came to the US to wage a non violent Jihad(I think they call it social Jihad or something like that) and came across people that showed him the love of Jesus, and converted.
You have to remember in this, although they are blinded by the hatefilled false teachings of Islam, it does not mean the person is bad or evil, the things they believe in are inherently a problem. They are deceived, but that does not warrant hatred. It is this difference you need to see.

When meeting a person who considers themselves a Muslim, we're meeting a person who God created to be in relationship with Him, and we're meeting a person who Jesus Christ died for. At one point, we were all lost, without God's grace... and sometimes, God uses the people around us to bring us back to Christ, no matter WHAT we consider ourselves -- Muslim, Atheist, Hindu, you name it. We're all lost until we let God in.... and He can change ANYONE's heart. As a former atheist, I'm living proof of that.

So, I think if we can keep this in mind, that a Muslim is just a sinner before they're met with the salvation of Jesus Christ...exactly like all of US were... then we should just be able to greet them as we'd greet anyone -- with grace, with prayer, with friendship, in order to share Christ's love with them. :)
