I heard the sadness of my heart
Crying, pleading for that one ray of hope.
Every part of my being reaching out ,
Trying to find what was missing in my life.
First I reached out to my friends, and family
But they were not able to fill that lonely place.
The place so deeply hidden from the world
The child seeking after what no one can give.
Unfulfilled dreams of being a part of something
Being wanted for who I am , not what you can get.
Everything I desire contradicts what life is about
But yet, I continue to seek after the one thing I need most.
Oh I told everyone so many times how I viewed what I was seeking
Love.. Who needs it (how could I need what I did not believe in)
Love.. Four letters saying what so many seek after, but yet they fear.
A word of control, (a word of belonging. ) The only thing that could heal.
I continue to seek after this thing like it had a great value
Seeking after the one person, (thing )that could help me belong.
Many have said this word, Few even know its real meaning.
Love, not to take but to give, not to possess or cage but to set free .
This voyage has only started, and the trip has been hard
Continuing to search the eyes, the soft touch, the soul
For just one sign that this love I so desperately need
Could be in someone who passes by, or who lives next door.
Then one day a beam of light shown so brightly it took my sight.
The words of Love and courage and hope poured from the pages of a book
Telling the story of one whos love is greater than live its self.
I cried out, longing to be near to this Savior, Who called me friend.
I reach out my trembling hand tears of longing run down my face.
He also reaches out, and Jesus cries each tear with me
He whispers never doubt that I love enough to give you my all,
For this very day, I give you my life that you too might live.
Crying, pleading for that one ray of hope.
Every part of my being reaching out ,
Trying to find what was missing in my life.
