  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm planning to get married next Friday the 4th. We've been friends for years. She's always liked me. Not too long ago I asked her to be with me by faith. I believe that she will make a great wife who loves the Lord and though I am attracted to her, in this area I still need a bit of growth along with growing to love her more.

Okay, I see two problems here. You've been 'friends' for years. She's always "liked" you? That's fine and dandy, but where's the "love?" You can't make a marriage work on "like." It won't happen. Secondly, you believe she will make a great wife...why? I noticed that you didn't say that you love her. You want to grow into love. I'm not a fan of arranged marriages, or marriages that are founded on the basis of anything but unconditional love. Are you sure you're doing the right thing? Personally, I think you may want to reconsider.
