I am love-starved. There is no denying it. I have been celibate for 10 years and its getting to me.
I am starting to do inappropriate things. I dont know what to do.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you getting out there? Meeting new people? Never know when you'll click with someone. But it'll never happen if you're sticking to the same old routine - same places, same faces, that haven't resulted in anything for 10 years. Try something new.

I'm not trying to pick someone up. I am just really craving love and attention, even where I am doing bad things. I want to get over the love starved phase.

I don't know what to tell ya. I been dateless for the last so many years, been without a friend to of the oppsite sex for a while.
But what I need to is for you to define a few terms. what is love? what are you looking for? are you active in Church?. If your not active why not? Can you talk to other single gals about this? they might be in the same boat? do you talk to other people or are you just talking to us because if we ask you a quetion and you don't like it you can ignore it?
I believe you have alot to think about...

I've been celibate for 21 years. I enjoy the company of several male friends but I no longer want the distraction of having an intimate companion. I like belonging to God alone.
But 10 years ago I burned like you do now. I offered myself to God and He must have accepted me and rewarded me with the gift of celibacy, because, it was no longer a trial. The burning hunger for sex was gone.
I guard the gift carefully. I skip the steamy pages in books, change the channel during the love scenes and refuse to allow the gift to be taken from me. I love my life.
Don't know if your choice should be the same as mine, but I do know that God will honor your choice, if you honor Him with your choice.

Once I weas single again, I got out there right away as I didn't want to be single adn love starved. Its been great finding a new love that sees quite a few things the way I do.
I guess you have to figure out if you want to go find love or become celibrate.

So why not "get out there " and get a man who will give you attention like you're seeking? Unless of course you want to do things "you don't want to do". Although I support being single, it's alright to date. I too have been celibate for 5 years.. I date off and on...So you want attention? What are the things you like to do? Maybe you are just bored? Try joining a running group (marathon group) or working out....Find a hobby...Occupy your time with something you enjoy doing.

sure it would be nice to snuggle but its love i want.
I dont want to say how old I am, but i dont like men my age or older, but rather guys much younger than me. Like mary kay letournou and villi folau. And i know its because i havent had emotional contact with men, and now I have regressed. I dont like men at all.

I can only tell you my story but i'll tell you tht i was begining to feel the same way you describe, strange thoughts wondering if i was normal. Then i began to focus on building relationships with anyone i can. Church friends , the foul mouthed crude guys i worked with at the factory that i had pushed away for the several years i had worked there. By focusing on loving the people around me and for gods will in my life all those thoughts went away. i even dated again she turned out not to be "the one" but it was an awesome experience . My point is find someone to minister too (whatever that looks like for you) take your mind off you. You coud be amazed. Good luck

Bryan -- great point. Reminds me of the words that if we love those that love us how are we different than other people ... its when we love the unloveable that we do the supernatural.

nasa - If you are struggling with doing inappropriate things (and flirting with/being tempted by teenage boys is definitely inappropriate since you are obviously an adult), then you need to pray that God will convict you of these feelings.
If you have issues with men your own age, that's fine. Date younger (my fiance is 8 years younger than I) - but just keep it in a legal age range.
You seem disappointed in the responses here. What exactly were you looking for people to tell you?

Hi Nasa I know how you feel, I have been "romantically" loved starved for 27 yrs BUT having Jesus close to me has often times taking away that emotional longing for this.
At times I feel like chucking it in and just going to night club to find someone. But Jesus love fills me and keep me saying no I will wait His time . Like you i long to love and care for a woman but God has made me wait and as hurt as it is I will pray and pray and try and live life to the full now. dating sites and different churches have not worked for me because it is not Gods time.. but I know He will in the end.
The only way to cope with such hurt is have the Love of Jesus melt you to tears and He will wipe away each time that deep longing / love starved feeling. Some people have to wait a long time! John
