  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I couldn't stand someone who though me inferior because of my sex, but I do like people who can take control of a situation when they need to.

Hatred of a group of people is bigotry. True strength does not need to lend itself to hatred to "take control of a situation when they need to" as you put it. If a man takes control of a situation it should be to help because he likes women. Not because he thinks her incompetant, incapable or otherwise beneath contempt.

Love or hate using big words like stentorian, vociference, and obstreperous?

I love using whatever word suits my purposes best. The art of communication is not using big words because they are impressive, but using the word that most closely proximates the feeling you mean to convey to the reader. I used "Misogyny" because it is one word that encapsulates the deapseated chronic attitude of hatred towards women that usually stems from an overcompensation of the feelings of inadequacy or an unhealthy and usually substanceless superiority complex...it's more of an animalistic, cave man mindset than an evolved cerebral one . So, to use it here suited my purpose. I would probably not use "stentorian", or "obstreperous" when loud, boisterous, defiant or obnoxious would usually suffice in their stead. "Vociferous" on the other hand is a word that like misogyny evokes a deaper more passionate meaning than the handful of words you would need to really be as expressive.
