I WANT THAT GOD KIND OF LOVE
I want to love like you love,
I want to care like you care,
Release your anointing from above,
That I might ‘agape’ love share.
Lord melt my cold, icy heart,
And give it a fresh new start,
Oh Lord please help me to see,
That others must come before me.
Lord, give me your heart of compassion,
For I really want to be your reflection,
May I your loving compassion show,
So others might long for you to know.
So help me to love like you love,
And help me to care like your care,
So others might see something of your love,
And because I have you I really care.

LET US SHOW LOVE ONE TO ANOTHER
He wants us to love like He loves,
He wants us to show compassion and love,
To love one another as he has loved us,
Treating others as we would have them treat us.
So Lord we ask you to change our hearts,
That we, your people making a fresh new start,
Might gather together united, in one accord,
Rather than speaking to others that last hasty word.
So we need to get our focus right, with Jesus first,
For when we truly come and for him thirst,
Everything else starts to fall into it’s God given place,
And we can treat our brothers and sisters with grace.
We will spend eternity together, worshipping our King
And his praises forever together we will sing,
So since the first fruit of the spirit is love,
Let us all start now on a new learning curve.
Learning to show love as he would have us do,
A humble and contrite spirit he would have us pursue,
For when we see others as more important than self,
The desire to prove that we are right will be left.
For our Heavenly Father wants us to first show love,
He does not want us intent our own point to prove,
The Word says we will know them by their fruits,
So showing love, grace and mercy should be our pursuit.
Teach us your ways our dear Lord and Saviour,
That we might indeed be salt full of savour,
And may our light shine in this world of men,
As we learn to show love to one another and to them.

And because my Heavenly Daddy taught me how to love, I can now cuddle a homeless drug addict and tell them Jesus loves them.
THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STREET
From the opposite side of the street,
How could it be that the twain should meet.?
Jesus washed my eyes with tears that I might see,
But for His loving grace and mercy that could be me,
Born into a Christian home I was seven when Jesus found me,
Throughout life’s journey He has been so real to me,
I look around me at a world of hurting people,
Father, I pray, help me to see your heart for people.
The desire of my heart is to see the hurting set free,
To know this Jesus who is so real to me,
So my friends though I come from the other side of the street,
My life was changed when with Jesus I met.
He’s my best friend and I just want to share,
That Jesus melted my heart and I really care,
His love for you is a love beyond all measure,
He wants to share with you his wonderful treasure.
On the Cross of Calvary my Saviour died,
He wants to forgive all that you ever did,
A new life He promises to you.
So come to Jesus let Him make your life anew.
