  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Despised And Rejected
tear2.gif

This is a symbolic picture of the Resurrected Jesus unwanted and unloved by so many. Storm clouds, rain and the dismal backdrop represent hard hearts. Jesus has found refuge from the cold and rain under an old abanoned arch. He crouches against the wall shivering, His eyes full of tears, dismayed that countless doors have been shut in His face. But very soon, He will continue His journey seeking out the lost and bringing His salvation.

Will I love Him Who today is still despised and rejected?

Today when I showed the original painting to a friend of mine she related a story of how she had listened to a tape of a priest who had gone to Israel and had seen the place where Jesus was held in prision over night before He was judged before Pilate. The priest could hardly talk about his experience and started praying before he could continue. He said this "holding place" for Jesus was a just a hole in the ground about three feet deep and Jesus would have to squat in there until morning. Right then and there I thought of my new painting and broke down and cried.

I can't imagine how He must have felt!

Thankyou Kisstheson for sharing this painting and giving us a reality check on just how much suffering Jesus went through just for us. Could I go through what Jesus went through? NO! I very much doubt it.

Thankyou Jesus that you love me so much that you were willing to suffer so i could have eternal life with you, words are beyond me :sigh: Thankyou

Jesus, You love me so much that You suffered so much. I can never thank you or tell you how much I love you enough for what you suffered for me and my sinful nature. You were abused and tortured yet instead of reacting you forgave those who welcomed you on Palm Sunday who then became those who abused you as you were lead through the streets of Jerusalem. Through it all you remained humble and didn't wish revenge on those who hurt you so physically and mocked you.

Kisstheson - I love your paintings. "Pictures are worth a thousand words" and sometimes I do believe this. I am into art myself, and your art expresses what Jesus has done for us, and how he works in our life. Keep up the wonderful work, because we all need reminders.
