As we prepare ourselves for the upcoming seasons, we need to condition our minds to search for theories and clues. Here are the questions left unanswered that should help our minds get back into LOST mode. Let's discuss some theories!

Ben told Jack he might as well abandon his "very dark" attempt to get back to the island in another plane crash: All six members of the Oceanic Six have to return to the island together. But why?
Season 3 ended with Jack pleading: "We have to go back, Kate." Season 4 explained how the conversation came to be. But will everyone agree to go? Jack: "We made a mistake. ... We were not supposed to leave." Kate: "Yes, we were."
Sayid is working as Ben's assassin. Will we get a full explanation of why?
Ben has a "few ideas" about how the Oceanic 6 can get back to the island. We're all ears. How can you get back to an island that is no longer there?
In Season 4, we saw the ship Jin was on explode, and Sun visited his grave. But it may not prove a thing: the gravestone says he died on Sept. 22, 2004, which is the date of Flight 815's crash, not of the ship explosion.
Jack says Locke told him that after he left the island, "some very bad things happened." What happened to Sawyer and the other castaways?
Hurley seems to be seeing ghosts, and he's not the only one. How did he go all Miles Straume on us?
Desmond and Penny are reunited, finally, but does that end their story? Sadly, no. Ben has vowed to kill Penny to avenge the death of his own daughter.
Ben and Charles Widmore agree that Ben isn't able to kill him, which is why Ben has turned his attention to Penny. What makes the old man so unkillable? It can't be all the scotch.
How did Locke get back to the mainland? How did he die? Is that really him in the coffin? Really?
How will 24's Reiko Aylesworth fit into the story? She reportedly plays a smart and professional nature lover looking for Mr. Right. Yeah, we're sure it's that simple.
This logo for Ajira Airlines popped up in a recent Season 5 trailer. Which recently wealthy member of the Oceanic Six might like an airline with a sun logo? We're just speculating.

So just where is the island? We know that even God, according to Ben, cannot see it. Desmond, a seasoned sailor, was unsuccessful in sailing away from it, but had no problem crashing there. So far, unless you crashed by pure happenstance the only way the island seems accessible is by submarine. More recently, Naomi and her mysterious people were unable to physically reach the island, and it took bundles of Penny’s money and a couple chilly guys in an arctic listening post to even find the island.
- what is the monster, really?
The healing force of the island. It makes a lame man walk, a cancer ridden woman disease free, and a blank firing Jin fully loaded, what is it about this island that has the power to heal practically any malady, but won’t allow children to be born?
The non-psychic psychic. His vision for Claire was so compelling that he gave her some of his own money to get out of the country, yet when he first met Mr. Eko, psychic man Richard Malkin told the warlord-turned-priest that he was no psychic, just your basic hustler. Was Claire his first legitimate vision, or are there other forces at play?
Who is Darma really? Yeah, we know what Mr. Candle told us in the orientation film, and we know what Mr. Wickmund told us in his orientation film, yet when Ben and his Pappy touched down on Dharma island, I didn’t see any DeGroots, did you? Besides, why are the ‘labs’ built like fortified bunkers? Did Dharma expect friction with the natives from the beginning? Did they know the island had ‘special’ properties? Don’t forget, with the blast door map that the inclusion of “Looking Glass” and “The Hydra” still leaves one more Dharma station to be discovered, could it contain the secrets of this shady cabal?
Who are the hostiles? Ageless and sort of hippy like, we know they think a lot of a guy named ‘Jacob’ and have a tendency to be lead by people they see as ‘special.’ The Dharma guys plead ignorance, but some you get the feeling they might have known just a little more than they are letting on.
Who built the four toed monument? A product of the hostiles, or someone else? The four toed statue was our first indication of an ancient civilization on the island. Subsequent monuments, such as the pillar that Anthony Cooper was tied to, distinctly resemble variations of Greek architecture. According to some fans, there is data that suggests man may eventually evolve to a four toed foot. Could the monuments be from the future? What happened to the rest of the statue?
How did the Black Rock wind up in the middle of the jungle? Theories that it was washed that far inland are a little goofy, to be sure. Is it possible the island rose beneath it? Some have pointed out the hostiles clothing resembles the era of “The Black Rock,” is it possible the Hostiles were slaves?
Who is Jacob? Deified leader of the others, in the brief glimpse we got of him as he flickered into our universe via the power (?) of Locke’s flashlight beam he looked fairly human, and badly in need of a haircut. You could barely make out what looked to be clothing of the era that our beloved hostiles wore when we met them in “The Man Behind the Curtain.” Was he the slave master turned God?
