After Moses led his people through the parted Red Sea, the people were all enthusiastic and prepared for a journey to their Land of Milk and Honey. God had promised them great blessings if they would only trust and follow him.
Their journey should have taken them only three months. The journey was difficult, but God had promised that he would care for them and supply their every need. After about a month of travel they were about a third of the way to their destination and they grew impatient. They told Moses that they were better off back in Egypt. They complained and lost their trust and faith in God.
At first this hurt God, but, his love prevailed and he made every attempt to give them what they wanted. But, it wasn’t enough and as the complaining continued, his hurt turned to anger. God decided to lead them through the wilderness, almost in circles, until the people decided to once again trust Him. That didn’t happen and God ended up killing them off and giving their blessing to the next generation.
There are people today, who are lost in the wilderness. God had made a promise to them, but they grew impatient, and angry waiting for Him to move in their lives. And, what God is doing, is leading them in circles because they have lost their trust and faith in Him. They have grown weary from the trials God has been putting them through. Their impatience will delay or cause them to loose their blessing. God's purpose for putting them in the wilderness is to allow them to grow and become stronger. It is a consecretory period. What happens is that when they become impatient and loose their faith and trust, their growth stops. They are so busy complaining, they are so busy crying, they are so busy fighting, they are so busy strugleing to get out of what they are in, they loose focus on God. God is not going to bless them until their consecration is complete. And consecration is growth. It is emotional and spiritual growth. If your growth stops, you will be stuck in the wilderness until you die.
Are you one of those people, traveling in circles and your life going nowhere? Are you angry at God for what you have had to go through? If you believe that you are, say the prayer below and ask God to forgive you for your impatience and to move in your life.
Most Heavenly Father, Please forgive me for growing impatient while waiting for you to move in my life. If I have been angry with you please forgive me, for it was only out of frustration. I start over today, and place my complete trust in you. I re-affirm my complete faith in your desire and ability to care for me, and supply my every need. Please fill me with Your Spirit so that I may hear your voice and make your will, my will. Please make your will for me and my life obvious to me so that I may wait patiently for my blessing. Please burn any anger out of me so that I may replace it with love. Please move quickly in my life so that I may give You Glory, and share Your goodness with all. Thank You in advance for the blessing you have for me and my family. I pray this in The Name of Jesus, to The Father, Amen!
