I'm so excited about tonight! But also sad because the end of the season is drawing near.

I did find out that ABC will re-air the entire season on Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET beginning June 1. So anyone who missed it or anyone going through withdraws can enjoy the entire season all over again!

I liked the format of multiple backstories. I bet this would have been great to see together with next weeks episode, the way it was originally planned. I bet we're going to get a backstory about all the main characters between these two eps.

Warning will be talking about what happened last night

The dinosaur sounding creature is a watch dog?
It stopped chasing the cowardly man(has he been on the show all the time?)
even though it would have been easy to follow his screams.(hope he brought a clean pair )

We also learned that Shannon Screwed Sayeed without even knowing his name. Before the flight.

It was sweet for Walt to let Shannon have his dog. And even better that she didn't just take the dog. She actually showed she had compassion.

I have to admit I forgot Lost was on until thirty minutes into it.

There is dynamite in that old ship? It must be real old and very unstable.
(dud, or basically nitroglycerin) Just a jolt can cause it to explode.

THE END IS NEAR!!THE END IS NEAR!! at least this season.

Is that the same creature that ripped apart the pilot in one of the beginning episodes?

Did they ever show how the plane actually lost control in the first place? Would be a strange twist if Sayeed actually was a terrorist but changed his ways and views after crashing.

This is the first and only episode of Lost that I actualy cried at. Don't know why I didn't cry when Boone died but this scene and the one with the married couple made the waterworks start for me.

I just read on a Lost message board this about the Black Rock:
"Hawaiian legend states that the spirits of warriors left the earth to meet their ancestors by leaping from this rock. " Don't know if that's what it's meaning is. There are other theories that back in the 1800's where disease was prevalent people used to hold black rocks....maybe this was a ship full of diseased people on their way to Aussie, since back then that's where prisoners were sent anyways, and that's why the French lady's friends all got sick when they went to the Black Rock.
I haven't seen the preview on the website yet but I wonder, since they've introduced Anna by showing her talking to Jack at the bar, if the tail section people will meet up with the others. I hope so!!!! I also hope that black woman's husband is a survivor. She seemed so sure of it before.

Wow! Just wow... I mean.. wow.

How the heck does one show offer so much information on story lines, but still wind up only creating more questions than answers?

I have episode 1-10 on tape. I'll be going back at some point this summer and watching for him. With the attention to detail, I don't doubt he'll actually have been playing golf on Hurley's course in one of the old episodes. Also, I'll point out that The Monster sounds - to me - like the creature from the sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet. Locke is so in tune with the Island that The Monster gave him that boar after revealing itself. I'm not surprised that he knew exactly how to deal with it. At this point I don't even think Danielle is as in tune with what is going on as Locke.

Oh, one more note about Arzt. "Artz" is German for "doctor" so I wonder if his name is supposted to portray him as some close but no cigar "doctor"... like say Jack?

You misspelled his name. It's "Boone," and I think she knew it. Seriously though, I think that was just an interesting plot twist. Sayeed was on that plane at the behest of the U.S. and Australian governments, so it seemed more like Shannon just being pre-Boone's death Shannon.

Loved both the "he's yours" scene and the launching of the raft, but the snark in my thought - 'oh, so that's why Vincent's a Lab.'

I'm probably the only person on CF, much less this thread who has ever seen a Roy Scheider movie titled "Wizard" (IIRC). In it Scheider's character leads a group through the jungle trying to recover a box of dynamtie that's been in the bush for a few years. A lot of the plot line is about the nytro settling and how unstable it makes the sticks. My only problem (and I have no issue suspending disbelief on this show - trust me) is that the ships style appears to predate the invention of dynamite. I also noted that the skeleton in the preview appears to be in shackles.

Speaking of tears, I was shedding them as I realized this truth.

Yes. And the one Locke had an encounter with where it apparently killed a boar for him. The revelation that it's part of The Island's "security system" might not mean much to some viewers, but it meant a lot to me.

In the "Pilot" episode and subsequent ones, it was revealed that severe turbulance was what caused the breaking apart of the plane. The whole downed Beechcraft discovery by Locke a few weeks back makes me doubt anyone but the island had anything to do with the crash itself. The numbers - the initial broadcast, Danielle, Hurley, etc. etc. make me wonder about the radio/transponder going out as well (more season 2 fodder I suppose).

Ack! I've avoided any message boards about Lost save this thread an another where spoilage is discouraged, and will continue to do so until after the season finale.

See you all in 6 days... well, maybe not all of you... Mwuhahahaha...

Well so far this is a great season finale.

It was very cool that Saywer told Jack about his father, that Walt gave Vincent to Shannon, and that Sun gave Jin a phonetics cheat sheet.

And of course no episode would be complete without a Hurley quote, "I think Leslie is a *****in' name!"
