Just one quick nitpick Billnew: Jack's dad was dead before they got on the plane so he couldn't be a survivor.

I enjoyed this Sawyer episode much more than the first one. And if anything I liked it because I finally noticed Josh Holloway is left handed. I noticed it when he went to kill shrimp Sawyer (who turned out not to be) and checked my still taped Charlie episode to find he drew on Ethan with his left. I need to check part 2 of the Pilot to see if he's fighting Sayeed using his left hand.

The plot twist wasn't as much of a stunner as some of the other episodes, but I didn't quite see it coming. I was watching Scrubs while I taped the first half-hour and flipping back and forth. When I saw the "I never..." part, I was first under the impression that Sawyer hadn't killed anyone. After I rewatched the whole show it made sense, but Robert Patrick's character is still a bit of an enigma. Did he set Sawyer up to pull off an assasination for him?

The guy yelling at the airport in Jin and Sun's episode was Jack trying to get his fathers corpse on the plane while the Oceanic staffer was telling him no.

Sawyer might be a con-man with a heart of gold, but he's still a con-man and I think that's why he didn't fully come clean with Sayeed about the voices or tell Jack he met his father in the bar. He keeps his hand close to the vest.

He has been seen on the island, he was dead before the crash, but is he still dead? His body was never found was it?(the casket was but not the body)

I would not write off the father, at least not yet.

We will just have to watch this wednesday.

As a plot device, definately not, but I'm not sure the Island would reanimate the dead (apart from Claire's baby) - but that's just my opinon. If there's one thing I've learned from this show is to have no preconceived notions.

More Jin and Sun backstory tonight. I could go over to my main office and watch it, but I think waiting until the morning to watch my taped copy will make it all the more delicious.

I'm really glad that I watched this episode, even though I was not looking forward to more about Jin and Sun. But I like him (and her) SOOOO much better now that I understand.

And also, may I just add that Sayid is a hottie?? Well, he is.

I heard on the radio Jinn saw Hurley was on the television when Jinn was delivering the message.(I don't know if it was the verbal message or the physical message.) Is this true?

Jinn doesn't want to tell Sunn what her father does.
I don't know why he is acting like he is. She didn't tell him she spoke english, but he hasn't been honest with her either.
She didn't look to unhappy about the breakup at the end though.
I am not sure that several of the people on the island that don't want to return to
the real world.

I'm not ready to change my oppinion on Jinn yet. He isn't as bad as I thought but he is still a man driven by ego and "honor" and can't even let the guard down for his wife.

So what's Jins deal? Why is he putting Sun off?

I actually thought he was going to admit that he had learned english after his father recommended going to America.

I thought we was going to admit that also.

The ending was great, with the whole music thing. lol

I caught that. The first time Jin went to that guy's house, his daughter was watching tv in the background, and it showed Hurley getting into a car. Of course there was no sound with it, so I have no idea why Hurley was on tv - assuming it was a News story of some kind?

Maybe we'll find out next week.

Soooo many questions from last night's episode:

1) Sun must KNOW that Jin can speak English -- at the end, when she told him she was going to leave him but he changed her mind, she said it to him in English. Why would she do that if she didn't think he could understand her? And he totally understood her too, he stopped dead in his tracks (back to her) when she said it.

2) How did Locke know that Walt started the fire?

3) How did Walt start the fire? With actual fire, or with his mind? Does that come into play with how Locke knew he did it?

4) What's up with Locke's parents? We know he's a foster child, and now we know his father "wasn't cool". I want to know more about his childhood.

5) Is Walt winning all these backgammon games because he's making the dice roll the way he wants them to?

6) The previews for next week... man they look good. That bridge freaked me out, the guns in Hurley's face freaked me out. Can't wait! (Okay, that's not really a question.)

7) So... Sun and Jin were going to America from Australia when the plane went down. Was that on her father's business still? Or was he taking her there to get away from her father? And how can she not know what her father does when she saw what Jin had to do for him?

8) When are they going to go back to explaining that hatch in the ground that Locke and Boone were trying to open??

I felt bad for the little girl when her father gave her dog away. I didn't realize until the next flashback scene (the one we'd seen before when Jin comes in with his hands all bloody) that *that* was the dog he gave to Sun.

I love Sayid, but I'm just not feeling him with Shannon.

I think I may have protested this "union" before hehe. I just love Naveen Andrews, I probably mentioned that before too.

In anycase...did anyone tape or tivo the show?

Do you guys remember when Jin went into the man's house. The girl was watching TV? Did anyone notice what she was watching? I could swear it was Hurley on the TV in one scene.

Can't wait for next week.

Edited to add: This is why you should read before replying. Ok, Im glad that Im not the only one who thought/saw hurley. Can't wait for his back story!

Good question

Wouldn't be fun for very long if he is controlling the dice. But if money was involved....

.
6) The previews for next week... man they look good. That bridge freaked me out, the guns in Hurley's face freaked me out. Can't wait! (Okay, that's not really a question.).
Since no one has an AK on the island, this proves that at least 2 other people are on the island. I hate rope bridges, but Hollywood loves them.

I think he was scheduled to due his Father in laws business. He was to go to Australia then to America, thats when his Father said to stay in America and start a new life.

.
8) When are they going to go back to explaining that hatch in the ground that Locke and Boone were trying to open??.
They tend to drop things, then when you almost have forgotten they pop back up.

I see her with her half brother even less.
With the prospects, I would say Sayid is the only potential left.

Hurley and Locke and Sayid have no female to chase.

I think that there's a culture clash here. :)

I think the both of them love each other very much, but this shows what happens with the breakdown of communication.

I like Jinn a lot. I'm not sure why.

I don't like it when we have to look at the tv to watch the subtitles to know what they're saying. I was trying to do other stuff and sometimes I missed the dialogue. In regards to that, when I was watching "Regis and Kelly" this morning, Regis said he was watching Lost last night and there was a weather bulletin about the snow we had right over the subtitles. Regis and Kelly made a joke that everyone would think Jin and Sun saying there's going to be snow in the morning.

The whole music thing in the end of the show was so funny. I can't remember what Hurley said at the end though. I just remember it was really funny.

I now the concept of Oriental honor, but I don't like it. (Ecspecially in intimate relationships.)

I think Hurley said "dam"
when his music died.(they need the professor(from guilligand's island) to come and charge the batterys.)

I saw Hurley on the tv also. So, I'm guessing one of the following:

1. He was on a Korean Reality TV Show winning a prize
2. He's on a regular show, but the Environment Minister had satellite.
3. He's a starving actor

Oh, and am I the only one who thinks that Sun is too hot for her own good? No wonder Michael is always so amped to defend her.

Anyone have any more thoughts on who's going to die? At first I thought it might be Jin, since he was being such a jerk...that would have left an opportunity for Sun and Michael. And then I thought Michael, but then what would happen to Walt...I guess he could sort of be 'adopted' by Locke. But, I'm thinking now the only obvious choice is Hurley  because he doesn't have any other close relationships on the island. Even though I thought it was SO sweet when he tried to take Jin fishing to help him relax after his initial fight with Sun. What a nice guy. I'll really hate to see him go. :sigh:

Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky and it will be Sawyer or Jack. ;)
