• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I love how you own up to your mistakes and just let God heal you. As long as you have repented brother and confessed to Jesus. He will indeed cleanse you from all unrighteous. I know that now isn't really the time to be anywhere apart from God because Jesus is coming soon. It scares me actually because...I still feel dirty and unworthy to be taken up. I pray that I will though. That we all will be caught up. If anything...knowing that we are sooooo close...keeps me grounded sometimes and reminds me that I should be focusing on Jesus and watching for him. I pray He comes to get us too.

Well, who knows! Evene the early Christians thought it would be soon for them but here we are 2,000 years later!

It is so easy to be pulled away from God in this day and age. So many temptations and distractions. I am sure these are the hardest times ever for that due to the world we live in.

As you know, in the Catholic Church we have Confession which i have said before, is such a wonderful scarament as time and again when i have gone to the priest afterwards when i emerge from the confessional its as if a massive weight has been lifted from your shoulders! Its and amazing feeling! People may frown at the Catholic way but waw! Jesus certainly works through the priest as far as i am concerned!

:) That's good to hear. And yeah...sometimes the temptations and distractions and fleshly desires are all overwhelming. To be completely honest...I'm actually battling with porn addiction as well. (part of where the self hatred comes from) Was too ashamed to say anything in the beginning but hey...admitting to a problem is the first step right? :/

I kept on reading it online as sleep paralysis. It feels like someone is choking you or sitting on your chest so you feel like you can't breathe, you also can't move or scream yet you are aware that you're awake. As for the feeling of an evil presence, all I felt while experiencing all those other things is something is really trying to hurt you and HATES you.
By the way "Far Side Of The Moon", we just have to keep on trusting in the Lord and be strong...even though I just felt like it was easier saying to you than believing it myself :D I am also trying to follow my own advice. I pray to Jesus to help me with my unbelief. :) <3

I used to get that all the time, (isn't it good to know evil hates us though, ) but no it is no fun at all to have to go through that. I used to get eyes looking at me, my hairs on my arms and neck would stand straight on end. I used to think that they reckon I'm schizo-effective so I suppose that's what you get then, but now I know that the truth of Jesus set us free, from the wicked all around us.

The problem is we are often spiritually in the wrong place. Life has handed us wrong and now the wrongs within are festering and need to be removed from within us to set us free from its terrible power to lie to us and to hurt us. For me it was the aftermath of a very traumatic event as a kid, and my often direction less upbringing because my mum was to sick to look after us and dad was always working to keep our family of seven kids afloat financially, that brought me so an influx of wrong that I went down under with it.

Jesus' loving truth sets us free though. To let ourself be guarded by the truth of His word. For The Word will expose the wicked hurting us and then give you the power to first resist them, and later overcame them, no matter how strong they now are. Their lies will not hold.

To know that Jesus is stronger than these forces all around and has overcome all of them is the truth we need to believe to survive the wicked attacking and to stop believing anything they might convey to our heart and mind.

I do still get anxiety, though I rarely wake up in fear now. I know that I'm safe with Jesus and that the lies anxiety fires at my heart and mind are not true and will stop pestering me if I learn not to be scared of such situations anymore but find comfort and safety in the loving truth of Christ, an on going process I believe.

Thank you brother :) I hope you have been set free from the wrongs festering within you. I'm still getting there I guess. I remember being afraid to sleep in my room or sleep in general but I'm not bothered anymore. And as for your upbringing...I'm glad you have not let that define who you are and lead You astray from Him. :)

i'm not so sure! he he. yeee, you're online too! :)
Hi. Yes I'm online and probably took a long time to reply because I was intrigued by a friendly debate of another topic which actually left me questioning something more but...at least I'm motivated to read the Word more. Hope you are doing good :)
