chapter 1
With only a month remaining until the tournament elimination fights, a young demon by the name Yashiro finds himself unable to move his body. He had been training for 2 years and hadnt gotten any stronger. Frustration came over him, how was he going to win the tournament if he couldnt even stand up, sure he was strong and could probably take out at least half of the competition, but there were still many demons whose powers were far greater than his were. A few hours past by and he fell asleep in the forest where he trained. The trees were splintered, the boulders crushed into sand and the ground covered in deep holes where he had tried out some new techniques. The forest did not really resemble the forest it once was, except for where Yashiro laid it looked like a wasteland. A figure wondered into the forest and found Yashiro where he lay.
For the longest time the villagers never wondered into the Country of Death, or Udeos Andan, thats where there was believed to be evil spirits and beasts of untold monstrosity. The Country of Death was surrounded by mountains and only several underwater tunnels under the mountain brought water to the Udeos Andan, from a large body of water on the east side known as the Udeos Nrdane or Dead Sea.
One day a young girl had been out gathering herbs to make extra medicine for her father when she heard a loud commotion near the mountain. It was only a short walk, and she had plenty of herbs and plus she was going by there anyway. She hurried to the mountain and found a 6-foot hole in the side of the mountain about 5 yards up. The hole went all the way through the mountain. The impossibilities of the situation were unimaginable and soon her curiosity had taken over and she found herself running into the Udeos Andan. Suspense began building inside her as she reached the light at the end of the tunnel, just imagine she was the first woman, no person to ever set foot inside the Udeos Andan.
She burst into the light and found herself in a beautiful forest with plants and herbs she had only read about and they were to be considered extremely rare. After a few hours, she had picked a good number of herbs being careful to leave some, so that they would grow back. Just then, she heard a waterfall. She had never seen a real waterfall, so she set her herbs down and hurried to go see it.
The waterfall was huge it seemed that water had somehow been drawn up and out half way up the mountain into a lake of water. She immediately wondered if there were people living in the Udeos Andan. She decided to explore using the waterfall as her landmark. She came to a part of the forest that had looked like a war had taken place moments before her arrival. The trees were ripped apart, the rocks smashed to pieces, and holes were the ground used to be. The fear some may have felt did not exist in her heart. Then she saw him, a young boy; well built, black hair, handsome by the look of it, a bit tall for his age, he was dressed in black cloth and a blue belt made of the same cloth as the clothes, she noticed his clothes were torn and they looked they had been through hell . The way he wore his clothes it looked as if he was training when something destroyed the forest. When she dared to get closer, she noticed that he was all beat up, blood coming from above his eye; he may be hurt, so she carried him on a blanket, she had in her pack, and carried him to the opening in the mountain where her herbs were. She noticed he was breathing, but obviously hurt.
She managed to get him to safety on the other side of the mountain. She saw one of the villagers and called out to him. He ran over and demanded to know what she did. She explained the noise from the mountain, but told him she found the boy admits the rubble, and pulled him to safety. The villager truly noticed the hole in the mountain and she saw terror fill him instantly; his face was pale almost transparent and he was shaking all over. He picked up the boy and told the girl to run ahead to the village and tell them what had happened. She ran towards the village.
When she arrived at the village she saw it in ruins, the gate had been ripped apart, blood layered the once green grass, the houses where smashed apart and a lot of the village was on fire. She looked around and saw what was left of her mother, she had been ripped open and her insides eaten, claw marks across her face. It was clear; her mother wasnt dead when she was eaten.
Allane run!
It was her fathers voice she turned around to see the villager, who told her to come here was running at her with a knife. She narrowly escaped the blades edge and found herself against a wall and the villager running at her with a knife staring at her with hungry yellow eyes.
Two villagers ran the man through with two spears and slammed him into part of the fence surrounding the village.
The man grabbed the two spears and ripped them out of him, then proceeded to rip open the two villagers and spilled their blood over his head and start devouring them. As the man devoured the villagers he began to change into a beast. The yellow eyes Allane saw before were bigger and filled with a lust for blood. She and her father now were all that remained of the village. The beast spoke.
I am Fordai, demon of the wolf, give yourself to me girl and I will release your father.
The thought enraged her father and he, knowing in his weakened state may only buy seconds, yelled to his daughter to run. She yelled for her father to stop, but it was too late Fordai saw him, grabbed a log and slammed it down onto her father.
The log slammed down crushing the body below it and splintering into pieces. Blood squirted out of the log where her father was crushed. Allane fell to her knees and began to cry. The father who she had loved and cared for was now dead.
Oh, dont cry little one soon it will be over and once my wolves finish with your friend, and Im finished with you, Ill kill you before my wolves eat you, then you can join your parents, how does that sound? Fordai said, as he let the rest of the log drop to the ground.
As Fordai approached, Allane she fell further to the ground, remembering the boy she saved, only to be eaten by wolves. Perhaps if she had not gone into the Udeos Andan and helped the boy, he may have lived and only she would die. To think, thanks to her curiosity and good nature she had killed someone who was not involved. The beast was before her.
Before I have my way with you child, I will tell you why I killed your village. He paused, Power, the power of devouring the blood of humans and eating their life force it fills me with power I never knew existed and plus, its fun. Fordai looked over and saw her looking at her mother.
So, thats your mother, she was resilient, but she eventually succumbed to my charm. Do not worry, I promise I will kill you after I am finished with you, before I feed you to my wolves.
Fordai advanced towards Allane.
Fordai let out a scream. Allane had stabbed his hand with the head of a spear.
Fine, Ill just kill you! Fordai brought his claw down to rip her to pieces.
Allana screamed.
Then nothing. She looked up to find Fordais forearm lying next to her. She saw the boy from the forest. He had a sword.
So, you must be the idiot who broke out of the mountain and sent those pups to what was it, eat me? Yashiro said in a dry tone. He picked up a rag and began to clean the sword.
Fordai screaming in pain could not believe that some brat had cut off his arm. He looked at the kid and saw his cold blue eyes. This kid was not a kid, but a demon and not just any demon. This kid was Yashiro , Legendary Beast Slayer, and Fang of Wind no less, the most powerful demon of the demons of the wind.
Youre Yashiro , de ..
That was all Fordai got to say because at that moment, Yashiro removed Fordai of his head and the blade as if it was alive consumed all the power Fordai had and gave it to Yashiro . Yashiro was filled with power and he realized that if he kills demons, who have taken in human life force, then his power will grow exponentially. He then turned to face the girl.
Are you okay? he asked. What is your name?
Allane, that beast killed my father! she said. She began to cry.
Old dude, kind of sick, looks like you? Yashiro responded.
Allane looked up, anger filled her face. How dare you, my father is dead and all you can do is make stupid cracks like that, I should run you through with that sword your holding and stick it up your .
Whoa! Wait. Look over there. He interrupted.
Allane looked over to see her father against a board almost completely out of sight. She ran over to her father and sure enough, he was fine, unconscious but fine nonetheless.
Yashiro helped carry her father to an empty house and gave Allane her herbs, then put out the fires around the village and began to cook some food while Allane attended to her father.
Over dinner Allane asked, Yashiro are you a demon? Her father looked appalled that his daughter would ask such a thing even though she did find him in the Udeos Andan. He was about to say something when the young boy spoke.
Yes. He said it calmly as if it did not matter either way. And so, his daughter persisted.
Can you turn into a beast like that Fordai?
Yes. Again, just like it was common small talk, hello, I am a man-eating demon, oh very good, I am a young girl with a father who couldnt stop you if you tried to rape and murder me. Allanes father could not believe it.
Still Allane questioned him. What do you turn into?
A six-foot 4-inch dog. Yashiro once again said calmly eating his soup.
Well, I have heard all men are dogs. Allane said.
This made Yashiro laugh. I guess in my case its true.
Allane laughed. Allanes father broke in.
So, let me get this straight you are a demon that can turn into a dog and rip me to pieces rape my daughter and do whatever to her and no one could stop you.
Allane scaulded her father for saying such a thing.
Well, I dont have to turn into a dog for all that, Yashiro responded in the same calm voice.
Fear now engulfed Allanes father. He remembered about how his daughter had told him about how he killed the demon with two swipes of the sword.
Do not worry sir, if it wasnt for your daughters care I could have died in that forest, and because of that I swore to insure both of your safety. Yashiro said. He set his now empty bowl down.
Do not worry, I have sealed the hole Fordai made and made sure no one else got out. I will take you both to a village not far from here where you will be safe my friend Shioh runs it.
Is he a demon too? Allane asked.
No. Yashiro answered. Now, lets get going. Can you walk old man?
My names Akiem not old man Allanes voice was stern.

Barely made it in time, Yashiro thought.
