Lord Kiva

Age: died at 47

Height: 6'5"

Build: May once have been heavy or on the heavy side of medium, but he's thinned out a bit in death. He is none the less an imposing figure

Race: human/living dead

Eye color: milky white

Hair: long and white

Complexion: incredibly pale

Origin: Lord Kiva was once a knight in the war against Anserak. He was supposedly slain by a foul magic practitioner, and brought back to life as an undead servant. He served the necromancer for 5 years before the necromancer died and Kiva was freed from the spell. However, he found himself all alone and without purpose or memory. Slowly but surely he recovered bits and pieces of his memory over time, and he still has a long way to go before he is complete. Kiva decided to act on his own volition and try to make a "living" for himself, since he has no master anymore.

He came into the service of a Lich named Frabudio in the invasion of Laurealda, known by historians as the War of Encroaching Darkness, or Laurealda's Darkest Hour. He served in cooperation with the half-orc known as Sir Burtarg, Black Knight of Anserak, and led an army of mercenaries, barbarians, greenskins, and other scum of the earth into the unsuspecting elven woods. The primarily guerilla war fell apart at the Laurealdan capitol, and Lord Kiva was the only officer to survive. He was taken captive and sent to an asylum in Sal Kadedin by the humans who aided the Elves in the battle.

Within the Asylum, Kiva's memories were restored, as well as much of his reasoning and social skills. They sought to rehabilitate him into an undying warrior for the forces of good. Much to their dismay, Lord Kiva's emotional empowerment over those twenty years only served to motivate him to break free and go back to his old lifestyle.

With the help of the unexplainedly odd old man, Bloodworth Mcgruel (who had also been an inmate), Kiva escaped from the Asylum and fled into the wilderness. He now commands a small band of brigands who have recently upgraded into an army, bolstered by the mindless servants of a cabal of necromancers that came into his service. The necromancers are led by the Archlich, Sir Cornelius Godric Pellinore, whose reasons for serving Kiva are thus far enigmatic at best. They embark on anything from minor raids on trade centers, body harvests in poorly defended areas, and full on sieges against walled cities. The latter has only been done once, and was a miserable and embarrassing failure.

Birthplace: The Empire of Peria

Occupation: Death Knight/mercenary
Armaments: Kiva wields a sword with a black, serrated blade. He has a black tower shield with a yawning skull wrought into the front. He is encased in black armor with bones of all sorts of creatures adorning it. He wears a black great helm with two horn-like spires in the back and an elongated skull painted on the face. All of his armor and weapons, with the exception of the helmet and shield, were the same armor he had on when he first gained conciousness as a death knight. His old shield was shattered by the Pra Yer, Colonel Asha Luckshander, and has since been replaced by the Shield of the Dying Breath. It is resistant to magic and more durable(and heavy) than the typical shield.

Likes: he finds few pleasures in the world, and his existance can be called truly miserable. He can feel no physical pleasure, but can feel a stifled array of positive emotion still. He normally finds happiness and satisfaction through violence.

Dislikes: The Living. He envies and loathes those who live for all that they have and take for granted, for he is without it, and would kill far more than he already does to taste it again. On top of this, necromancers (although he works with them), satanists (although he begrudgingly employs two), and the otherwise dishonorable find little favor with him.

Strengths: He has few physical limitations, and can call upon immense strength. He also does not need to sleep or eat, moreso he cannot sleep or eat. He feels only minute physical suffering, and can continue fighting when mortally wounded. In fact, it is very difficult to kill him by wounding him alone. His body must be destroyed to slay him. Usually decapitation or destruction of his torso is the most sure fire way to do it. Although, even when decapitated, his body will still move around by its own volition. IT will not be difficult to destroy by then, though.

Weaknesses: He tends to let his own personal feelings get in the way of business, and this hasn't changed over the years. He is, at best, impulsive. At worst, he is a loose cannon that is more dangerous to his designs than any other opposing force. Holy energy can severely damage him if he is exposed to it. He can not be healed by any medicine due to the fact that he is undead, and if injured he has few ways other than magic to be made whole again.

Overall temperament/personality: Due to his suffering, he finds joy easiest in tormenting others. His eternal pain drove him mad after a few days of undeath, and he has been a Death Knight for over 45 years. Whatever was left of the old Sergei Vladimir Kiva II has been replaced by a soulless monster. Literally, he is without a soul, and is merely the corrupted mind and body of his former self. Mercy is rare from him, but his impulsive and proud nature can be appealed to.

Magic: He posesses no magical ability, and relies solely on physical strength. He is also not exceptionally intelligent, but knows enough to let wiser men help him plan his battles. His voice is a terrible and unsettling thing, with an ethereal quality to it.
