I'm currently living in the middle of England and have been interested in formally joining the Orthodox church after a few years of doing research here and there. I know very little about actual services from how long they are, what one must wear and whether one can just turn up and I'm quite nervous about the whole thing so any advice would be gratefully accepted, God Bless.

Hello!
What to wear- Assuming you're male, long dress pants are a MUST. A polo mor tucked in button down shirt would be ok to wear, t-shirt probably too casual. Or, go for the full suit haha. At my Parish the men usually opt for a dressier look.

How Long- Usually the Divine Liturgy will last for 1.5-2 hours depending on the Priest/Parish. There will also be a small service called "Orthros" prior to the divine liturgy that also varies in length based on the Church.

And finally, YES you can just show up! Usually there will be a coffee hour after liturgy so you can meet the priest and parishioners! Our Priest asks all new comers to come forward and wait up front so he can greet them after the conclusion of liturgy.
