LOoking forward to forty!

Thought I'd throw this out there for those getting ready to turn 40. What things are you looking forward to?

This is actually for anyone, those that are just turning 30 are welcome to post also.

Than eight years but my brother in law
Just had a birthday and he turned 37.
He is just three years away. Yipes!

Do you know this is such a good question because now that I'm 3 months shy of turning 40 I've been so negative!

The only thing I could come up with right now was the prospect of being able to sneak into the 40's area of the forum (even though I'm SO going to miss you guys here).

Goals & Plans - to be my own boss and SAHM before my mid-forties. I've taken a leap of faith by leaving a permanent job to pursue this. But I feel that this is the way forward since life seems so short now.

I can't really say that I should be looking foward to my 40's since I just now turned 30 in May of 2007, but however I am looking foward to my 40's because that may be when my kids are grown up whatever. :0)

Personally I was thrilled to turn 30 and I look forward to 40 and 50.
Yes I'm strange lol. The history, the wisdom, all those experiences of life... wow!!

The only drawback is that I've noticed my body does not respond as well as it used to.

Jolie Heart, I think that yes, we have something to look forward to.
50 is the new 40 and 60 is the new 50.

My mom is 54 and just competed against (in an 8k) a 22 year old a few weeks back. He beat her only by 15 seconds and got 1st place for his age category.

I just read some articles today from these 90 year olds, it's the new 80. But the only problem is they wish they could move around and do the things they used to, instead of just crossword puzzles and knitting. I'm not sure I want to go onto that age, but it sure makes me appreciate where I'm at.

I'm not dreading 40, really. I've been too busy dreading the fact that my 20th High School Reunion is just 3 1/2 short years away. It just simply does not seem possible that I graduated from HS that long ago!
