everyone! hope y'all have a blessed sunday!
today at church, we had a guest speaker. Bill Fay. He challenged us to be "fishers' of men" instead of "keepers of our aquariums." what an analogy! He spoke of the Christian sin of "silence." That God wants us to be missionaries...to go out and spread the gospel. Even if it's just to our neighbors or families.
That we will stand b4 God and be judged by our inactions as well as our actions, by what we say, as well as what we do not say. How many times has God placed someone who was unsaved in our path, yet we did not share our faith with them? I am guilty of this. His words went straight to my heart. and i did something i never did before...i went up to the alter and fell to my knees and asked God to forgive me for my sins of silence and to open my heart to fill it with the passion i lack so I may spread His Word to the lost and unsaved. AMAZING!
Jesus said "If you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven." Bill Fay asked some pretty heart changing questions....
Do you only have Christian friends?
What about the unsaved? Didn't Christ "hang out" with the dead, the diseased and the lost?
You are either in a relationship with Jesus Christ, or you are not.
You are either born again, or you are not.
You are either a child of God, or you are not.
He challenged us to share our faith, read our bibles, and be born again by God's definition.
I tell you now, I am ashamed of myself for being any less....
