• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

well, we are saved by grace. Grace, in lamens terms, is Gods unmerrited favor. In other words, we didnt do anything to get it, we dont deserve it and its only on the basis of Gods mercy. So therefor, if we couldnt earn it, there is nothing that we can do to have it taken away.

Jesus said, that all that the Father gives me will come to Me, and no one will snatch us out of His hands. Jesus first loved us, it was Him pursuing us. Nothing we can do, nor lose.

I dont have a bible handy with me right now, but later i will post scripture to back up the beleif of once saved, always saved.

No, you can't lose something that you didn't do anything to gain. When God gives a gift, He doesn't take it back. Nor can you 'abandon' it. I believe some people who claim to be saved turn their backs on Christianity forever but these were never saved.

I agree with John and OCD above him ...

you asked for scripture may i can provide a list ill post later on ..

Thanks ya'll for your replies so far. I'm just at a place in my life right now where I'm stuck. It's like I can't go forward and I'm just moving backwards. I would like to think that I was truly saved before. I remember it feeling like a war was going on inside of me. One to do God's will and follow Him and the other my sinful self. I remember when I was so sensitve to sin and saw it in myself, my friends, and the world like I never had before. It was like a whole new world I never knew was there. I can remember reading my Bible and actually understanding what the scripture was saying and loving to read the Bible. I remember loving God and Him being number 1 in my life. Now I have no guilt when I do sin I don't have panic attacks or the anxiety when I have horrible thoughts. This makes me wonder if you can lose your salvation or maybe I was never saved and that was God trying to get me to come to Him even though at that time I knew I didn't need anything else in my life but Jesus and wanted and accepted that. Can the devil play with your feelings like that? If he knows thats the way to get you to stop turning to God? I'm just so lost and confused. From the moment I start waking up in the morning God is on my mind and throughout the day I will think of Him. (Not always good thoughts either). I get up every sunday and go to church. I don't even know why. Sometimes I think I'm grieving the spirit out of my life. I know I'm not following God and I'm living my life in a wordly way not a godly way, but I also know that if God doesn't show me that mercy and change my heart back to Him then I have no choice but to go that way. It's like I'm waiting for something that's never going to happen. Sorry this is so long I've just had a lot of stuff on my mind for quite a few months and haven't talked to anyone about it. Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this.

John 10:28
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand.

John 6:47
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Romans 8

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Luke 18:27
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God

Mark 10:27
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
