Well, The Almost and Skillet are both Christian, so you're good there. (Though I'm sure other kind forum members will have delightful suggestions for further artists to check out.)

Unfortunately, System of a Down is fairly unique in the music world. I've heard several decent clones, but none of the Christian. (If you're curious, hit me up via PM... I don't feel like breaching the "sacred" boundary between the Christian and Secular music forums.)

The closest Christian band would be Tantrum of the Muse--who embodies (or, more appropriately "embodied" since they've been defunct for nearly 10 years) a similar loud, brash musical backing and off-kilter, hard-to-describe vocal method. That said, the two bands use their similarities to completely different effect.

They might also have the least sanitized lyrics to have ever been found in the Christian market, tackling the darker, deep issues that can challenge and confuse a Christian teenager or young adult. In the black-and-white world of Youth Pastors (sweeping generalization alert!) Tantrum of the Muse would have fallen into the black.

Anyway, if that has sparked your interest, the good news is that the band has put both their full-length albums on the internet for free download: Unteachers

I found their music to be very tenuously Christian - I know of secular groups that have more christianity in their lyrics.
There is only so much "let me see your face" and "shine your light on me" a person can take before they realize that 95% of Christian music is unimaginative trash. Hymns that are over 100 years old have more originality and better lyrics than most Christian artists today.

I can't stand these standards that some of the Christian community tries to force on Christian artists. This whole idea that "They must not have a solid Christian message if they don't say "I want to praise you" in their songs at least 15 times" is complete hogwash.

You have amazing artists out there who are extremely secure and promoting their faith in music while writing about things that people can identify with. And while you may not be able to identify with the lyrics in Demon Hunters music, there are thousands of people who are much more secure in their faith thanks to the way they write their lyrics and present their music.

I dont think you need to say the word Jesus or God to make it "more Christian". They are an amazing band

You should listen to Red.

I'm looking for some music similar The Almost (Southern Weather and Say This Sooner), Skillet (Comatose, Whispers In The Dark), and System of a down (BYOB and Toxicity)
Any Christian bands that sound like this?
