Looking for good Christian books and authors

Can anyone recommend some good Christian books and authors to me? The only things I read anymore are those books written by Christians and I have run out of the good books that I know of that fall into this category. Please let me know if you know of any. Thanks!

I would recommend the Left Behind series, LOTR, the Chronicles of Narnia, and anything written by Frank E. Peretti

I never said there is anything wrong with wrong with it, just asking why the person would strictly limit themselves to just books written by Christians. I mean a book is a book. If one of your favorite "christian books" was written by someone else who wasn't a "christian" would you still like it or even have read it? You can still find the same challenges, messages and such in other books that aren't written by christians. Granted we all have our preferences as to what we like (I personally am not a huge Sci Fi fan or fantasy, but I've still read some of both genres that I have liked), I just don't think someone should limit themselves to one certain genre or books only written by people of certain religion,gender,color, etc...

Well, the Left Behind Series is fiction, it is not a christian book.

If you want some great christian writers I would recommend Chesterton, CS Lewis, and Tolkien.

I'd recommend Terri Blackstock if you like mystery,
Stephen Lawhead if you are into historical fiction and fantasy,
Randall Ingermanson if you enjoy SF,
Karen Hancock and Laura Lond (more fantasy, real good).

Kristin Heitzmann has some really good books and so does Lori Wick and there are a ton by Gilbert Morris. My favorite is the Cheney Duvall M.D. series.

I forgot the author's name but the book he and his family wrote was called 'The Ishbane Conspiracy'. It was really great. It was like the Screwtape Letters except it also shows what's happening to the Christians the demons are following.

I don't know why people think I'm closed minded because I'm not. Let's say that you were really into mysteries and were only reading mysteries for a certain period of time. That doesn't mean you're closed minded, it just means that you're really into mysteries right now. That's the way I am with Christian books. I have tons of non-Christian authors that I love so don't put words into my mouth please. s to all.
