My husband and I will be moving to the Cherokee County area of SC around the first of the year and are hoping to connect with an established simple, organic church. If none there, we may start one. We are of charismatic background, yet not as practiced in the IC. We are rustic and are interested in learning more about the very old writings of the church (didache, etc). Anyone out there?:prayer:

We would be a bit of a drive for you...northeast GA...but sounds like you would fit well in our little group.

We're located in Habersham County, GA. We meet on Sunday evenings--unless somebody's kids are sick and we don't want to spread germs. :) We have 3 couples and my mom, plus 6 kids ages 7 and under. And we have a pretty varied background, but are already starting to move in the direction of the gifts. Also, my mom and I have something of a Messianic Judaism background that we're starting to introduce to the others. We know of at least 3 other families who are considering joining us. There's still plenty of room for more!

Feel free to PM me if you're interested in visiting us!

We thought about going the home church route a number of years back. I found some good books that covered some practical things that you don't think of like child care, what to do if the cell group gets too big, etc. I don't remember the book names but you can do a search at Amazon using the key words "home church" and you might find a book or two that would be helpful.

MZS,

We thought about going the home church route a number of years back. I found some good books that covered some practical things that you don't think of like child care, what to do if the cell group gets too big, etc. I don't remember the book names but you can do a search at Amazon using the key words "home church" and you might find a book or two that would be helpful.

I'm in the early stages of planting a cell church in collaboration with another couple here in Australia. I've been helped most by the ministry of Ralph Neighbour and TOUCH Ministries of Houston TX.

I got to thinking of the cell church model through reading Ralph Neighbour, Where Do We Go from Here? I'm convinced that this is one of the most effective means of mobilising every-member ministry.

I have translated the 'Didache'
and done a comparison of it with
the bible...

have also worked on other early church writings...

am charismatic ...
and believe in the cell church as the
direction the church will have to go,
due to the last day struggles...

I have a web site where I post some of
these things...
you are welcome to come view
or even join...
