  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Looking for confirmation...

Hi folks! I am relatively new to the New Covenant...I have NEVER in 25 years of church life heard a teaching or sermon devoted to the "in's and out's" of the covenant. I have been brought to it by revelation and am looking to see if I can get confirmation of what I am receiving...

Can ya'all tell me what your understanding is on these two points:

1. What are our obligations in order to remain in the covenant?

2. What are the promises of God for those in the covenant?

As I stated, I believe I know what they are, but I want to be sure.

Thanks!

Blessings!

There's not really a "remain in" the covenant. You're either breaking the covenant stipulations or not, but that doesn't nullify the covenant (cf Gal 3:15).

The promise of the New Covenant is inheritance of the world; that's promised to the primary Heir of the Covenant through Abraham.

Covenants contain laws and promises; as far as Paul was concerned, the New Covenant is a covenant of promises, all of which are the property of Christians (check out Gal 3). That would only, solely, leave the conditions of admission into this covenant as what remains (Rom 3:20-30). Paul asserts that admission is reliance on Christ.
