  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you mean sing traditional hymns in chapel? If you'd like, you could go to a college that doesn't sing traditional hymns in chapel, but attend a church that does sing traditional hymns. Would that be a viable option for you?

As to your question, I don't know much about the Christian colleges out there (I go to a secular, state school), so sorry I can't be of more help.

During high school band tour, I remember when I visited Point Loma Nazarene university in Point Loma, California, we sang hymns... it seems the dress code there is pretty much whatever since it's a "surfer college" or so I was told. I don't know if they only sing hymns though.

Well, I live in Western Michigan not sure where you are, or how far you're looking to travel, but Cornerstone University is a very conservative Christian University here conservative (Chapel is required and I'm sure they sing traditional hyms), but women can wear pants. If you are interested in going into education I have heard they have a great teaching program there. Not sure about any of their other programs though.
http://www.cornerstone.edu/
We also have
Calvin College http://www.calvin.edu/
Kuyper College http://www.kuyper.edu/h
Aquinas College http://www.aquinas.edu/
and very near by are
Hope College http://www.hope.edu/
Grace Bible College http://www.gbcol.edu/
and Spring Arbor University http://www.arbor.edu/

yeah, we're big on religious higher education around these parts I guess. From what you described though, I think Cornerstone is probably most like what you're looking for

I can vouch for PLNU. It is a very religious college and there are no strict dress code requirements.

A lot of adventist universities sing hymns but let women wear pants in their dress code.
That is true.

My little sister goes to Union College in Lincoln, NE. It's an Adventist college. (Yes, that is the religion I am.)

The nearest Adventist college to Florida is Southern University in TN. Some of the other Adventist colleges in the USA are:

Southwestern University
Loma Linda University
Wala Wala University
Andrews University

There are more. If you want links to the school websites, just go here:
http://www.nadeducation.org/colleges_universities/

The college website links are listed on the left. I think there's also a few on there for out of the USA.

Hope this helps! And YES! You CAN wear pants there!!!
