I am British but living in Mexico and most churches here are catholic, but for some reason something inside tells me I would feel better in a protestant church. I have visited a few churches here but don't get the feeling of much community. That is what I'm looking for,a community with which to grow in Jesus so I would like to know the basic differences between the catholic and the protestant churches: in the sense of community(of course I understand this may differ from country to country too),beliefs, worship etc... I'm sure you all must have seen this question a thousand times  but if someone has the patience to explain it again I would really appreciate it. Ofcourse if anyone knows of a community they would recommend in Mexico City that would be great. Thanks.

Heya Vicky,

I can't answer your post but I didn't want it falling behind as you are asking genuine questions (whereas the posts riding at the top appear to be full of just bickering). ;) I will post a link to this thread in the Protestant section of the site and see if someone will flyby and help you out. :)

Cheers!

If you're heart is telling you to go to a Protestant Church go, and may God's blessings be with you. The Major differences between Catholic and Protestant are the traditions they hold. One example- In my Church (Baptist) we play Pianos, Organs, Guitars, drums, we shout, clap, and praise God through singing, and dancing. Most (if not all) Catholic Churches do not do that. There are actually alot of differences, too many to list. Here is a website that has a list of many "false" doctrines which are more important than just traditional differnces. http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/false_religions.htm#rc

You're not actually that far from the USA, why not move here?
