Looking Down Into A Mirror

I just saw the most horrifying sight. I was reaching for something over my hand mirror and looked down and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKS!

Who IS that old bag!!!!????

I challenge each of you to take a hand mirror and look down into it. Post your reactions. Better yet, post a picture.

I feel guilty folks. I think Prom looked down into a mirror and has flipped her lid. Like the poor guy in mythology who took one look at Medusa and went stark raving mad.

I took that look for some years ago. It was a mirror in a box and on the box there was a text:

How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well.

And even if I'm having new days and losing old beauty that's true: I'm wonderfully made by God.

It's funny, but when you look up into a mirror, it's a facelift.

And I knows what ya'll mean. I NEVER look down, only up, or straight at ya... but even that's getting bad these days... nope... looking up it is.

Ya hafta be careful walking around looking up, though. Folks might think you're a snob. I used to know women that did that when they were young. Somebody said it was an old charm school technique -- walking around as if being led by the nose with a sky hook. That's supposed to be charming?

the trick is to look up into the mirror. stuff that falls down disappears when you do that. if you hold the mirror just right. and being able to hold that mirror just right comes with age and wisdom.
never look down again.
look up! to heaven! see how beautiful that face is now??

Oh, that is a beautiful way to look at it Theresalyn! Look up to Heaven and you are beautifully young! Look down to the meany downstairs and you are as ugly as sin. No pun intended.

thank you miggles, for overlooking the fact that this old soul didn't read all the previous posts and repeated what was said a few times before. (but i have dial up and this board is very, very busy and i always get in too much of a hurry.)
my father was a preacher and he always encouraged us as children to bow our heads at the beginning of a prayer, but hopefully by the time we concluded our thoughts, we would be looking up for an answer. i live by that rule today.
always look up.

Oh. I didn't think about bowing our heads when we pray. I mean, I do it every night when I'm on my knees to the Almighty. How could I overlook THAT? Of course we look down when we pray. But our eyes are closed. And there's usually no mirror.

I think I'm ill. My mother took a pic of me the other day by the window. I look like an old lady. My neck is saggy and has lines in it. I had no idea I looked like that. The pic I took of myself last night looks great compared to this!

I might as well forget about getting a life and take up knitting.
