Not a great deal; about a thousand years ago, I read her short story The Pictures of Las Cruces, which is set in Mexico. Other than that, about all I know of her is that she was a devout Catholic, came from the South, and her father was killed in 1861 at the First Battle of Bull Run. Pretty sketchy, I know.
Well I’m pretty excited about starting it. While scanning it, I saw there was a scene in there where someone was speaking oh how awful it was to have a devotion to Mary. As we both know, back in that time Catholicism was considered horrific.
