To those of you who are in long distance relationships, how do u make it work? me and my girlfriend are only 10 minutes apart yet our situation is basically long distance, our contact is limited, and we see each other once a month due to the current situation.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What situation keeps you from seeing your girlfriend who is 10 minutes away?
My current wife when we where dating was 1000 miles away. Phone calls, conversations on the internet etc. Even if those calls where just to say good night.
And we still saw each other roughly once every 2 months even if it was just for a weekend.
I don't understand what keeps you from your girlfriend. I remember with my wife feeling as though if I couldn't take a plane, I would drive the 18 hours. If I could not drive the 18 hours I would have rode a bike to see her. And if I did not have a bike, I would walk the distance.
Now in all likely hood I probably could not have ever gotten the time off of work to bike or walk to see her. But if that where not a problem I would have walked if I had to.
So what is keeping you from her?

10 minutes. I'd take that lol. My wife is 8,100 miles away from me until she can come to america around christmas. I only got to see her once in march when we married. So being apart until christmas is very hard.
For us we make it work way before we married. We talked about LDR and what it means and takes. We talk on skype every day, chat on FB, sometimes call. We send love letters, do art, post inspirational stuff. We basically do everything a married couple does but from far away. Also when apart you have to guard your heart from attacks from the devil who will use any weakness he sees to try and get you two apart.
Most important we keep God at the front of everything we do.

I'm still trying to figure this out. 10 min by car. . . you can walk that distance. Even if it's 10 minutes by highway, that's only 10 miles. You could meet in the middle in about 2 hours of walking. Getting all the way would maybe take 4 hours.
Shoot I drove 3 hours just to get on the plane to fly to see my wife.
