  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My b/f and I have been together for a year and a half and we love each other soooooooo much. God has been the foundation of it all since the beginning so I have no doubt in my mind that He will make it work... but I'm leaving to college soon - bout 3 hours away. :( So, I was just wondering how some of the people here are handling it or have handled long distance relationships in the past? What to do and what not to do? Although I am completely positive the end will be favorable any way, I'd rather not hit any bumps along the trail that could be avoided just from hearing peoples' stories and stuff. Thanks so much!!!

i am exactly in the same position as you. i have been with my long distant boyfriend just over a year and a half and we live about 3 hours away from each other.

We do the purpose driven life over the phone together. I dont know if you have heard of it. If you cant both get your jhands on that then bible studys are kewl to do together. they have helped me so much in my boyfriends and my relationship. I pray to God when i miss him, i pray to God when im upset. Thats the best thing you can do.

To be honest i hardly miss him anymore (well i miss him its just got to a point where ive accepted the distance and i value the time i spend with him more). i do miss him but before i used to cry everytime we where going home etc. I think that was cos i only saw him like once a month. Now i see him every fortnight. i love it.

Hey Danielle, I've noticed that its been quite awhile since your last post in this thread. I hope that you're still following it at least. If so, how is it working out? Keep the faith in God foremost above anything. God will make sure that everything works out. It might not always be the way that we want it to be worked out, but it will be for the best.

Hi,
My BF is in CA and I am in Philadelphia. It is hard sometimes, but doable. Look on the bright side, at least your only a days drive away. If God wants you two to be together He will make it work. There will be times when it is difficult, but you just have to trust God to make it work. Make time to talk to each other everyday, do things like text each other throughout the day, e-mail eachother, write hand written notes, and keep in mind that God has a reason for this. Don't be discouraged, just rest in the knowledge that God is always there when you need Him.
