Yes, bus travel has been suspended. Tube is completely shut down and being evacuated. Roads in those areas are closed, slow moving or grid locked.

That's what I've just heard on BBC news...apparently there's had reports of thsoe stations being closed/evacuated but they haven't said anything further about it.

there have been NO confirmed deaths at this point - and the authorities are saying that indications so far are that there are few deaths likely to be reported

(remember i'm in australia and our broadcast is slightly delayed)

Probably the phones have gone down because everyone is ringing to say their ok, or find out if people they know are ok.

FTSE seems to be wearing the damage ok... so far. Financial markets aren't reading that much into it.

sorry, i realise that the decision to hold the olympic games in London could be a real cause of these attacks. i just thought the way it was worded was funny.
