CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I didn't say you changed your mind, I asked if you did! I thought that either you changed your mind or you are obviously contradicting yourself.
I have to put this topic to rest since I have said all I can say. I will say that anxiety, negativity, anger, frustration and hate is really stirring up the Muslim world and that they appear to be a swarm, but they don't characterize any of the other descriptions of the locusts. This is all part of the beginnings of birth pangs. Trumpets #1 -7 will be blown in the near future, you will not mistake them.

I watched the video. It's similar to the other scenario presented. Lots of money was spent to produce something that misinterprets scripture.
The symbolic interpretations in this video resemble only a few chosen events that fit their scenario and leave out the majority of descriptions that don't work for them. The time frame is 7 years but it is over after that and the Millenium begings.
1. Sadaam was evil and a destroyer no doubt as was Hitler and Osama Bin Laden. They were antichrists for sure but not the one who takes control of the entire world during the Great Tribulation.
2. The Antichrist is destroyed by Christ after the rapture and then Satan is locked up for 1,000 years. Did this take place? Was Sadaam Apollyon? No!
3. Chernobyl does mean wormwood and it was likened to and named after the Biblical wormwood but that doesn't mean that it is. You can name your son Jesus too but that doesn't make him the Biblical Christ.
4. WWII lasted for 7 years and that ushered in 1000 years of peace did it ??? and you received your resurrected body did you ??? Was All Evil put down??? Oh but you say the seventh trumpet hasn't sounded yet. See the time frame, symbolic references and order of events are all screwed up in this scenario.
5. Oil fields on fire are not the Abyss opening up and releasing 200 million locusts that sting and torture people without killing them for 5 months. I suppose the people of Kuwait represent all who have the mark of the beast? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even close.
6. Nor did the smoke cover 1/3 of the planet,
7. Nor did 1/3 of the fish in the sea die,
8. Nor did 1/3 of the people on the planet die,
9. Nor were 1/3 of the sea vessels on the planet destroyed.
10. ALL the other details that are conveniently missing as well.
This video is yet another Pre-Trib delusional scenario. Tim LaHaye did much better than that but he is also wrong. But hey, they made a lot of money. Therein ... the gist of an argument ... historically, people have devoted lives to interpreting scripture. We know with certainty, also, that folks in the past weren't living in THE actual end-times, otherwise we would now be in the millennial kingdom. (A possibility perhaps, but not sure many would agree.)

Again, the seven years is just one of several well-known historical interpretations. There are multiple time periods and durations specified ... for example 3 1/2 year periods ... in different places ... no single definitive timetable is provided in scripture.

I am aware that there are many views or the book of Revelation, I studied them for many years and maybe this is why I discount some so easily since I find inconsistencies and problems in them. This is why I steer away from far out symbolic interpretations. I stick with the literal descriptions of events, therefore I'm not really interpreting them, just taking them at face value and when symbolism is obvious like a "sword" is coming out of Jesus mouth, I know what it means, it is the word of God.
I know the Dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns is not literal either.
I guess I am comfortable with a Mid-Trib / 7th trumpet (Rev.11:15)/ Second coming of Christ at which time we are resurrected (1 Cor. 15:52; 1Thes. 4:16,17). Hence, trumpets 1-6 (Rev.8:7 - 9:21) have not yet sounded --apparent from the lack of literal devastation and evidence that they represent.
