I'm upset, because my CRUDENCE'S CONCORDANCE does not have a topic heading for "LIVINGSTONE(S)" from bible verse. I found the passage I was looking for under the heading of: "living"....not what I was looking for: living stone...
in this phrase: "coming as to a living stone..." from Cruden's Complete Concordance
This is the passage I was looking for:
1 Peter 2:4:
"Come to him, to that living stone, rejected by men but in God's sight chosen andprecious; and like living stones be yourself built in a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood.....for it stands in scripture:
"behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,"
a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."
I'm wondering if there are any other references to these "living stones" (that St.Peter refers to), in other parts of the Bible (?)...and does this passage ( and possible others) coincide with the white stones in Revelations (?) (of the angel of the Church in Pergamum) from the following passage:
"To him who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone , with a new name written on the stone, which no one knows except him who receives it."
Revelations 2:17
I was also curious about the stones Joshua speaks of in Zechariah 3:9, and zechariah 4:10-11:
[My questions are: ARE THESE ALSO THE ONE AND THE SAME LIVINGSTONES spoken of by the author of Revelations?
Also: Could these living stones possibly be built up into a PILLAR?...figuratively, or metaphorically or possibly as "factual future conceptual imagery" when later technological possiblites comes up as--- PILLARS OF LIVINGSTONES?]
"For behold, upon the stone which I have set before Joshua, upon a single stone with seven facets, I will engrave its inscription, says the Lord of hosts..."
I am also curious if this passage is somehow ALSO mysteriously connected with this one: "Then I lifted up my eyes and saw...they lifted up the ephah..."
My question is: What is the ephah?...Was there a mystery stone(s) or mystery pillar(s)---(7?) about the ephah?"
I am also interested in the stone Joshua speaks of, in this passage of Joshua 24:26:
""...and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak in the sanctuary of the Lord. And Joshua said to all the people, "behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which he has spoke to us; therfore it shall be a witness aginst you, lest you deal falsely with your God."
My question is: Was this an actual stone---empowered by the Spirit of God?
I also have another curious interest in this passage:
"He who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; is this figurative language or factual imagery?...
My question is: Is the pillar concept a possible conceptual possibility, like the pillar of winds that resided over the Holy Ark of the covenant?....or is it a stone pillar...what kind of imagery is the Spirit speaking of?
Another question: Isn't the greek word for wind, the same as the word for spirit?
Did I ask too many questions about "LIVING STONES" in Bible for this thread requirement?
Can I also ask or suggest if it is possible, multi-interpretations of these questions---just input from other sources, although interpretations may not all agree, or be in sync with each other(?). ( I hope there won't be a groupthink tendency with questions such as mine however(?) I am looking for multi-level levels of discernment and interpretation through the Spirit of God. The questions concerning these passages, are dream and vision oriented, where I have trusted God in my faith in His presence in my dreams, and as my only source of comfort at times which has been through his Holy Word.
