Why is it that so many christains live together and I'm sure have sex and act like it is nothing? They are sinning! Right? Seems like some people just cheery pick things out of the bible to make it ok in their life style. Is this wrong?

Because people live in a modern world where things like sin don't matter much. We as people have become soft to sin and live in a world where pleasure is all that matters.

ok I know two couple that go to church every sunday they live together and are having sex. My point is how can a person just shut their eyes to this.. I find it to be hypocitical. I still love them but the act like their sex act doens't even exsist and they are doing nothing wrong..These friend are in the late 40's. Not that it makes a difference, but they are not kids..
Well, I fairly new here so I did not see any other "overly talked about this topic" Really it was just a question nothing to get all excited over!I live with my boyfriend. And our personal life is our own business. The best thing I can say in response to the *numerous* threads on this issue.. is Let he without sin cast the first stone. It seems people love to get hung up on all the christians sinning in this way, and all the christians sinning in that way.. but in reality, we should all be focusing on our own individual sins, because we all have plenty, rather than worrying about how other christians are living their lives.
That's my little rant, because it annoys me to see this topic come up over, and over, and over again, just for the purpose of someone to say "Ha ha, look at all the sinners" or so it seems.
Yep. Look at all the sinners.. but the person pointing the finger should be pointing it right back at themselves. Because that's what we all are.
Rant over. Back to your regularly scheduled overly talked about topic

Why is sex a sin?
Will someone please explain it to me?
I am not referring to pedophilia etc. I am referring to contentious sex between two or more people.
The religious will go a long way to justify murder but they will never justify premarital sex! Personally this whole issue has the ring of hypocrisy.
First of all between more than two people is gross, disgusting, and wrong.
Sex between two persons before marriage is wrong, 100%. Read 1 Corinthians 7, where it is instructed that a man not touch a woman in a sexual manner before marriage and if you burn with passion then it is better to marry than to burn and sin by having sex before marriage. (Not the actual words of the Bible, that is a summary that I put together for you).
He didn't ask for a repetition of what's been said before - he's asking for why it is gross, why it is disgusting, and why it is wrong.
So you think it's better to enter into a marriage that likely won't last (since it's based largely on sexual desire) than it is to have premarital sex? Can you explain how this makes sense?
Exactly my point. I think we can reasonably conclude from reading Paul's writings that he was chauvinist and not a very good model to follow for healthy relationships.I'm thinking it might be a problem if a marriage is based "largely" on sexual desire.. Becaue after years those fade.. Then what.. Adultry?
