  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I got a twist on the obscene call.
I apparently ended up with the number a **Lady** Hoar had before me.
This lady also had a sister who sometimes stayed with her.
I got calls asking if I was a "HOAR". (say it outloud).
I think some of the calls where legit but others where not.

Oh my! And I thought having a phone number that used to belong to Kroger grocery store was bad! (NO, today isn't triple coupon day!!!) :D

I had the phone number one time of a guy who must have, ahem..shall we say, got around. I would get calls from women at all hours of the night wanting to speak to Jason. Now, after awhile it made me wonder about these women. If you were calling a guy at 2 or 3 in the morning and a woman answered the phone, and you knew it wasn't his mother, would you not at least have some brain cells to think that he just might be attached in some way to the woman that was answering HIS phone?

I loved it when I lived in the Country! Nice and quiet and the occasional cow or sheep or horse or goat in your yard that got out of a fence. I didn't worry unless the dogs went crazy or started acting weird.

Now I live in town, and there is a whole lot more traffic and noise. (I sure do miss the country)

Please don't use that word in reference to prostitution... it is offensive. (I work with girls involved in prostitution...)

He may have been a drug dealer instead of what you initially thought. They frequently change their phone numbers.

Also keep in mind that for the type of person of which you are speaking, it doesn't generally matter if one is attached or not. ;)

I did find out some time later that he had gotten married. I suppose he had changed his phone number so he and the little misses wouldn't be bothered by his past. I finally had to add a line on my answering machine something to the effect of "...and if you are calling for Jason, this is not his number any longer. Perhaps you do not have his new number for a reason...."

But, I guess that still doesn't mean he wasn't a drug dealer because sometimes guys would call too. I was very popular when I had that phone number. ;)

I just had an interesting experience and discovery. I have nervy neighbors.

It's been hot and humid in this little Iowa town without air conditioning, thus I keep doors open with screen doors locked, lights on in the house (due to the flying nocturanal rodent issue) and I got a phone call less than an hour ago. It was a local vet clinic saying they had my ID badge for work, they described what it's on to a T. So I go out to my van, which is where I keep it so I don't get to work and  because I left on the kitchen table, and sure enough my van door is barely open, not clicked shut. I go in and find that is all that is missing at first look. No I didn't have my van locked, forgot to last night. Still nervy neighbors as my van sits right out side my bedroom window and my back door.

Praise God  for His hand on me and my things and that I was able to recover my ID badge for work. God is awesome!

You were very lucky Cindy.....Praise God that nothing happend to you! Here where I live Isleep with my doors locked and my cars unlocked. just about everywhere that I normally go I leave the keys in the cars themselves. (except for when I go into town, I try not to do that much, Too many people). When I lived with my parents I would leave them in the ignition all the time.

Heck at work we have left the keys in the ignion of my dad's van for 4 days straight without nowing it, and nobody fooled with it.

I am just glad nothing happened to you.

Peace

I like living alone. of course it can get so lonely. I miss my family a lot. I miss my roommates a lot too. I'm used to having 3 other roommates, and they're not here. I'm just glad that I have friends here. Nevertheless, living alone helps me to grow up and become more responsible and mature.

A funny happened today! I was driving my 1990 van home from work, when this older couple walking along side the road started pointing back behind me on the road. So I found a place to turn around and go back and just as I was half a block away, this cop stops his car in the middle of the road and rolls someone's spare tire out of the middle of the road. As I pull close the guy in this couple is still pointing, telling me it's mine. :D So I stopped and picked it up. :) Apparently I came around the corner and lost the spare tire from under the van on my way... hehe

Gotta love God's sense of humor!

I will be living alone for my first time when I return for my Senior year in college. All of my friends have graduated, and I'm not fully confident that I will be able to handle the situation well. But I will endure.

I think that everyone needs to live along for awhile... even if it's not for very long. It will help you learn about yourself, grow and mature, learn lots about life, etc. :)

I'll have two semesters to see if you're right. Thanks for the encouragement.:)
