Literal Interpretations and Bats being Birds

When we stand at the Gates of Heaven and answer for our sins, do you think it's really going to matter an iota whether you think a bat is a bird or not?

Just curious.

I don't remember reading Jesus walking the earth preaching science. I don't think he cares if you understand science or not. Science created the Tower of Babel and Golden Calves.

I remember reading a Jesus walking the earth attacking the temple and it's corruption, attacking the High Priests and their hypocrisy, preaching the beatitudes. Healing the sick and raising the dead. Showing love and the way to Heaven.

That, to me, is all the people need to know.

I think the question arises from the fact that you're using Bible passages as a defense for your chosen path to salvation: Accept Jesus as your lord and savior and don't commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirirt. Since it is the very validity of the Bible that is in question, one is hard pressed to claim, "I know with absolute certainty that these passages are correct, these are metaphors, these are allegories, these are just the opinions of the writers, etc."

I agree with you. Arguing over science is pointless.

If you say round, the bible differs from you, so you should probably start believing its flat.

Please show me one verse in the Bible that says the Earth is flat. ( And not any verses where you interpret it as it saying its flat - like "circle", or "pillars", which in no way automatically mean flat)
