First of all, I have never said that anything is a "lie". I have not even argued against YEC'ism itself, but against the particular teaching that evolution and/or an old earth are absolutely, and without doubt, contrary to Scripture. This IS a stumbling block to many and, thus, is a detriment. This is not speculation, it is a simple fact, not only from my own experiences, but as shown by the posts I have presented earlier: there are many who have found the dogmatic teaching of YEC'ism as a stumbling block. And I am not the only one who thinks so. This is not just some fantasy of mine. Christian leaders and authors have said EXACTLY the same thing, and have URGED YEC's not to present their teaching in this absolute manner.
And some interpret according to their faith in a way that also agrees with the scientific realities.TwinCrier said:Some interpret scripture according to their conscious, others according to their faith, still others according to science. The truth will be revealed one day.
