Which is why they failed, incorporating hip hop and rock is like putting a lion and a tiger together. Doesn't work, the end result is a band with songs that are forgotten a year later.
Errr, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers do it all the time - it's called 'Funk rock', or so I thought.

The rapper hasn't left. He had his own side project but he didn't leave - he didn't feature on "What I've Done" but he hasn't left. He'll be on other songs, no doubt.

Mike actually sings more on this album that he did in the other ones.

worn out on it(song) and the cd isn't even released yet
I know what you mean. It's a good song and all but it wears thin after a few listens.

When I'm worn out on a certain song (which happens a lot) I stick it out until radio are done with it, then a few months later, I'll hear it again, and it will sound really good.

If you like the sleek production and concise and simple songwriting of Linkin Park, perhaps you should check out Katatonia's The Great Cold Distance. These guys have evolved from a rather brutal doom metal band (which I personally loved too) into an alternative rock band with a lot more commercial aspects, but still retaining their instrumental skill, dark atmospheres, and originality.

To be honest, I quit liking Linkin Park after Hybrid Theory. I like its poetic lyrics (as opposed to the "one song for each issue teens today face" approach Meteroa seemed to present).

I did like Reanimation, too, but all the newest stuff reeks of Meteora to me......
