As some of you may know, multiplatinum retiring rapper Jay-Z and two-time (out of two) multiplatinum alternative rockers Linkin Park are doing a mix up of their songs. Many may have seen the groundbreaking concert on MTV, but seen it or not, what do you think of this merger?

i've heard of this, and honestly, it wasn't a big deal to me.

i really don't like Jay Z's music at all. Linkin Park is cool though.

so i guess i'll have to put, don't care in all reality. i mean more power to them.

the other times people got together from different styles, the two bands were just outstanding bands. even on the hip-hop side and i'm not even a hip-hop fan that much, i like some, but it's the older hip hop stuff that i like. and Jay Z, well, his music the things that he raps about just doesn't appeal to me. now would i guess he has good songs out there, probably so, i guess i'm just, not interested in hearing them, that's all.

but more power to them! it is cool seeing styles coming together to just play music from time to time :)

so i guess i'll have to vote dont' care, but still, this post shows that i think it's cool when styles and dare i say, different worlds come together once in awhile and does a special event to just play music.

so how come, someone hasn't started a poll about the merger of country and rap, ie Tim Magraw and Nelly?

i'd start it up, but i haven't heard anything from it, and i really don't care, because again Nelly is another hip-hop rapper, that i really have no care for when it comes to his music. Tim Magraw has some good songs out for sure, but i'm not huge into country. (even tho, Johnny Cash will always be AWESOME!)

i'll let someone else start that poll up if they want, hehe.

What exactly was groundbreaking about the concert in question? Anthrax and Public Enemy were collaborating 15 years ago, not to mention Aerosmith and Run DMC.
We also can't forget Busta Rhymes and Ozzy Osbourne - they had a pretty cool song "This Means War" on Busta's E.L.E. album about 6 years ago. Of course it was mostly Busta rapping over a classic Ozzy riff :)

There's a new song out now produced by Lil' Jon that did the same thing.
