I have to agree with Olbermann on this one. Robertson should stop pretending to speak for God. Unless he was there in the 19th Century, he doesn't know if any pact was made with the devil. Furthermore, even if such a pact did exist it wouldn't cause an earthquake over a hundred years later.

Limbaugh shouldn't make comments about Obama sending aid to Haiti to bolster his popularity with the black community. Obama was speaking at some Democratic Convention retreat tonight. I haven't seen him go out of his way to do anything beyond what any other president in the past would have done to assist a country in the midst of a terrible disaster.

With that said, it isn't as if Rush is way off base using presidential response to a natural disaster to bash a politician who "plays for the other team". This isn't something unique to the Obama Administration. I mean, who can forget the infamous, "George Bush doesn't care about black people!" accusation just after Hurricane Katrina?

To hear the far left talk, Bush went and stuck dynamite in the levies himself just to kill a bunch of impoverished black people.

I really don't see why what Pat Robertson said was so shocking. To a fundamentalist Christian isn't every belief that isn't their own "Satanic?" Don't they seek to convert the whole world to their religion? It's poor timing to make such a statement, unless you simply want publicity, however I don't think it's really anything new or unusual coming from the mouth of an evangelical leader.

Well, at least it's certainly nothing new or unusual coming from the mouth of Pat Robertson, but that doesn't make it any less disgusting or evil.

That's the whole thing. It's Pat Robertson. Even Christians have come to expect him to shoot off at the mouth any time something big happens in the world. It was the same with Jerry Falwell. Something happened and everyone sat around and wondered, "gee, I wonder what good 'ol Falwell will have to say about this. I'll bet it'll be something tactless and dumb."

For what it's worth, I have yet to speak to a Christian in person who believes Robertson's statement was even remotely acceptable or true. I've only seen a small handful of people on the fringe who are supporting his statement.

That may be, but it sure doesn't seem to stop them from giving him and his TV Show money and ratings.

People are goofy. My husband's friend actually bought one of those prayer cloths from Robert Tilton back in the day. He had to pledge something like a minimum donation of $250 to the ministry to receive it. When it arrived, it was nothing more than a dryer sheet. He said he wouldn't send a check for the donation he promised because he felt ripped off. A few months later they tried to sue him for the money. He sent them their dryer sheet back with a nice little letter telling them to buzz off.

This might make you feel better about Tilton:

They've made such a fool out of the man that his name is like the punchline of a joke now.

Doesn't detract from the truth of what he's saying about this.

Actually - if you listen to Limbaugh, and I do, you would be laughing. Olbermann is paraphrasing what Limbaugh said.
Even Rush said that by weeks end people would be saying how bad he is, etc. when he was basically parroting many of Reid's words. As for Haiti, Limbaugh said that people should make donations to the relief effort- but suggested that it be done via the private sector and not through government organizations...

He said he would play the media - and it worked. Olbermann and the Huffington Report have both fallen for it. :p

As for Robertson- there is no excuse.

Tilton made a punchline out of himself. He will burn for his sins if he doesn't get right with God.
God has said what awaits anyone who turns people from His way.

Limbaugh has questioned that the money donated by people to the Red Cross will actually go to Haiti relief. He suspects that emails and phone numbers collected from donors will be turned over to the Democratic Party to use is soliciting contributions. He actually said this.

He also said we Americans have already donated enough to the Haitians via our federal income tax.

Rush has his 600 million dollars and his 50 million a year income. I don't think Limbaugh is racist. He thinks everyone else on earth can go screw themselves - he has his, the rest of us are just bums in his eyes, apparently.

The biggest fools on earth are the Dittoheads, though, not Rush Limbaugh.
