Thanks, Humblebee! In reality we do help the homeless with a small homeless ministry we have. We have been feeling led to expand it, but have been afraid because we want to make sure it is God, really God and not just our compassionate hearts. You know, is it a "good thing" or is it really a "God thing" for us?

Funny, the next night I dreamed:

I was expecting 10 people to come for dinner at my house. I was making dinner. At the last minute we got a call saying 200 people were hungry and were going to come over to eat.

I was panic-stricken because I had no extra food and could not figure out how I was going to feed them all. I was searching all my cupboards and they just was not enough food to feed more than the 10 who were there.

I woke before the solution was made apparent.

Wonderful Christina! Your vegetable dream is surely God's Yea and :amen: to expanding your homeless ministry! As for the theme of your dinner dream, is one of faith in your eleventh hour God!...to live by faith not by sight...trusting that He, your Most High Almighty, will meet the exponentially growing demand for your supply! ;)

Psalm 50:10-12 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Last night (May 26 05), I had this very short dream. I was in a large field which was very dry and dusty. In the field, laying in rows, were burnt looking, dry skeletons. I touched one, and it turned to ashes. I then heard God speak; he asked me "Son of man, can these bones live?" I then woke up, and the Lord had me read Ezekiel Chapter 37.

RESCUE THE PERISHING Numbers 12.6 "And he said, hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream."

Before I went to bed one night, I prayed and asked the Lord to send encouragement. I drifted off to a deep sleep and began to dream a very vivid dream. In this dream, I was in a church preaching to a large congregation of different races and people. I was speaking these words, "Either you are a child of the King (Jesus) or you are a child of the devil! You must be born again to become a child of the King. And another thing, you must love your neighbor as yourself. The congreagtion was shouting "Amen!" and "Preach the Word".

When I completed these words the Lord gave me, I went outside the church. I looked up and saw thousands and thousands of people pressing towards me. I looked behind me, and saw a deep, dark, bottomless pit, and I was facing the crowd with outstretched arms. On my left, an elderly woman in a wheelchair was about to roll in the pit, and I grabbed her at the last second. A man in front of me was having a heart attack, and I had my right hand on his heart and was praying for him. I then awoke from this dream. The Lord spoke to me and said , "I gave you a glimpse of hell and the multitude that is rushing, headlong into the pit. The elderly woman was one of those in the nursing home you ministered to right before she fell. You are my intercessor and are standing in the gap for many people. Keep on preaching." The Lord answered my prayer and sent the encouragement I needed to continue with His work.

Joel 3.14 "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision."

Mark 1.17 "And Jesus said unto them, come ye after me and I will make you fishers of men."

One night as I was sleeping, I had an intensely clear dream. I had been meditating on the above scripture before I went to sleep. In my dream, I was driving down a straight and narrow dirt road. I passed by a stagnant pond and there with cane fishing poles were a couple of preachers I knew. The water they were fishing in was scum covered and dirty looking, and the hole they were fishing in was small.

I shouted to them from the road, "Come on! Go with me, I'm going to a really big lake to fish!" They replied, "NO! We are content fishing here; we catch one once in awhile."

As I drove down that narrow road, I observed small stagnant ponds all along the way. People were standing on the banks trying to catch fish. At each pond site, I would stop and ask the fishermen to come with me. The answer was always the same, "NO, we're content here. It's easy fishing, the banks of the pond are clean and even though the water is stagnant, we still catch one once in awhile."

I drove on down the road until it ended. In front of me was an old farm house surrounded by a weather beaten picket fence. An elderly man and woman were sitting on the front porch in their rocking chairs. When they saw me drive up, they got up and walked down the short pathway to the picket fence gate. The elderly gentleman spoke and said, "Sir, you can't go any further until you wrestle with that big old fish that is down in the well." I could clearly see the well. It was an old open style well built of bricks about five feet high and six feet in diameter. It had an iron grate covering the top. I went to the back of my truck, pulled out a heavy fishing line, and a gigantic hook. On the hook I placed a huge piece of meat. As I began to lower the bait in the well, I felt the Spirit of the LORD come on me. I also felt the presence of great evil. Well, I hooked that big old rascal and commenced the battle to bring him out of the well. The whole time I was fighting this fish, I was saying, "Help me Jesus, help me Jesus." I finally brought the great fish out of the water and tied off my line.

The ancient man and woman were watching the entire battle. When it was over, the man spoke and said, "Okay, you can go on behind the house now." I went behind the house, and O my what a sight! The clearest, bluest water (even better than Hawaii where I lived for three years) I had ever laid my eyes on. The beach was covered with clean white sand and there waiting for me was a top of the line fishing boat. As I drove off slowly in that boat, big, beautiful fish started jumping in the boat until it was about to sink! I then woke from my sleep and asked the LORD the meaning of this dream.

The LORD responded to me and said, "The road is the straight and narrow path that leadeth to life. Few find it. The stagnant ponds and fishermen represent the churches of today. They are content with their own little place and don't want to venture out to the unknown. The old fish in the well represents Satan who you will have to wrestle with if you want to catch much fish. The lake full of fish represents the world. The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. Because you fought with and prevailed over Satan, you will be one of my expert fishermen and I will provide the way and open the doors."

As the LORD spoke these words of wisdom and encouragement to me, I was greatly encouraged and strengthened for the work He had appointed me to do.

Luke 5, verses 6,7 "And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink."

I had this dream in late 1987. Since that time, the LORD has used me greatly to "catch much fish". I have had many battles with the enemy, yet the LORD has always strengthened me and provided what I needed.

Hi Humblebee,

Thank you for writing back to me. I'm sorry I did not thank you sooner.

Some parts of the interpretation matched very precisely with some of the needs of this family at the moment.

Since you felt like you were in the future, the Victorian times could foretell of VICTORIOUS TIMES coming soon! The rundown alleyway between 2 buildings could symbolize how difficult and narrow is the way that leads to true life! (Matthew 7:13-14) Certainly, VICTORIES will come through JESUS, and by the power of His shed Blood on the Cross (wooden table) of the Calvary that has affected the whole wide world (round)! A round table, as in a roundtable discussion involving many participants could also confirm this family needs for Christian counsel. His mighty power will greatly hearten you (lifting you above temporal circumstances...not at ground level)!

Thanks Humblebee - it is encouraging to think of Victorious times ahead - and to think of the table as linked to Jesus' sacrifice. The family in question is going through a preiod of change, where the husband and wife are both feeling a step up in their calling to minister.

Could show that their mum is not home a lot? Her lack of love toward her kids may make her 'dead' to them? And when she is at home, she may be a different person than she is at church? Changing the light bulb in the hall, as in long haul (a picture of the future), could symbolize that the mum's relationship with Jesus will be revived as she feasts (dining room) on the Word of Truth! Her kids need the love of Jesus and His fresh manna as much as she does!

Hmmm . . . mum is at home quite a bit, but she is also very involved in her local community - parent teacher associations and so on. She is a very genuine person, so I don't think she has different 'faces' for different environments. This part of the dream didn't really fit for me - but then, the children had a different mother in my dream, not their own - so maybe this part of the dream had a different kind of meaning, which will be revealed later.

Their dad could be a Divinely timed refuge for them, while their mum has strayed? Would seem that the youngest boy needs more attention, the care of a wise, loving guardian...he may be a tough handleful (coming from a dysfunctional family?), yet God's grace is sufficient for you...enabling you to minister effectively to this boy. You are equal to the good work God has set before you! :D

Thank you again for the encouragement. I think that, within this family, the dad has a close relationship with the youngest boy, and that the youngest is quite a handful - and does need more attention. When I have chatted with him, he really does seem to enjoy having one-to-one attention. I think it is difficult for this family at the moment because they are in such a time of change, so I am keeping them in my prayers. They do seem to be a close and loving family - just struggling through change. I have also offered to babysit for them after praying for them over the last week. Your response was very encouraging - thank you.

By Mary Clark

In a vision, I saw a pink flower, growing up between the bricks on the front steps. It was a lovely flower, but two fingers showed me that the center projections (stamen, stigma, style)* were black wire. Why did You show this to me, Lord?

*stamen – a pollen-bearing organ in a flower made up of a slender stalk

* style – the slender, stalk-like part of a carpel between the stigma and the ovary

*stigma – the free upper tip of the style of a flower on which pollen falls and develops

I want to tell My beloved something about this flower. It is quite lovely, yes, but it has nothing to give. It has nothing to share with another other than its outward beauty. It could reproduce nothing, because its stamen, style, and stigma were not natural. They were wire. The flower had nothing that could offer any hope. It had nothing in it that could reproduce after its own kind. I am seeing this in many of My children in this hour. I see many who have nothing to give. "Why is that?" you ask. I will tell you truly, beloved, that many are still seeking after the things of the world to satisfy them deep within their hearts. They are not looking to be a blessing to others, but to be a blessing to self.

I see in these a certain deadness – a certain thing that offers nothing because there is nothing deep within to give – to share – with mankind. I want to remedy this. I want those who still feel as if they have "self" on a pedestal to take that step down from that pedestal, and come to Me with words of repentance, offering to Me their whole hearts. I want to hear words that will excite My ears. I want none of this self-proclaimed, idiotic talk about what you plan to do on your own. I want to hear from you what you wish for Me to do in you and through you. That is where true life comes into the picture.

Hear Me now, and know that what I speak to you is truth – abiding truth. I want you to know that your destiny in Me is secure when you lean on Me, putting your trust in Me as your Savior. I want you to know that as I live in you, I can give you new life – a new life that you can share with others. I want you to know that I am the only answer to life's problems. Many people will come into your midst and you must have something wholesome to offer them. You must have something life-giving. Of yourself you cannot give anything worthwhile. It all comes from knowing Me and walking in My will, looking to Me to produce that good work that will reveal Me to others. That, beloved, is the only way that others will come to know Me – as you rely on Me, putting your trust in Me and in My methods of wooing men into My camp.

I am eager for the day when all of My dear children will have that life-giving substance that will enable them to produce after their own kind. That substance comes from knowing Me, dear one. Of yourself you can do nothing. You must rely on Me to bring forth My will in your life, offering to you a place of soundness and truth. I am SO eager for you to realize this truth. I am SO eager to see you walking in this truth, being an example of your God and King in order that others will walk in the Way.

The hour is coming, dear one, when you must make a choice – a choice as to whether or not you will accept My ways or your own ways. In this hour, you will notice that things have changed a bit. Things will get more intense. You will notice that it is not as easy to make that decision based on what you have to offer, and you will know that I am the only One Who can offer to mankind that life-giving force of My love. Be that as it may, many will hold fast to the old way of doing things. Many will hold fast to doing things in their own time and in their own way. I say that NOW, beloved, NOW is the day to step off that self-proclaimed pedestal and look to Me to deliver you into a place where you will give to others that needed gift that will enable them to grow – to grow into My likeness. If you wait until later, you will find yourself in a severe crunch. Now is the time to make this most important decision: Will you look to Me to bring forth that most satisfying gift in your life, whereby man will come to know Me through you, or will you continue in the same old mode of relying on self? DON'T rely on yourself, beloved. Rely on Me. STOP looking to self! Look to Me to bring forth that life-giving quality in your life that will enable you to set an example of goodness and truth.

The enemy is in a turmoil. He knows that time is short. He knows that his name is about to be called by the voice of the Almighty, and when that occurs, he knows what his future will be. You, on the other hand, also know that time is short. You know that I have wonderful plans for those who seek after My heart, yet you are continuing to walk in that same old self-seeking mode, looking to self to bring about the desired results for which you are looking. I am giving you explicit instructions NOW! Drop that way of thinking into the pit of destruction where it belongs, and assume the role to which you have been called. You are My servant – My emissary. I have made plans for you to walk in My truth, giving to mankind the truth and wonder that only I can provide. I can do nothing with a heart bent on serving self and looking to man for approval and accolades. I can do nothing with one who seeks after his own way – his own goal. So lay aside all of your worldly notions, take up the ways of the Beloved, and follow after My will. You will find if you will do this, that I have brought forth something outstanding in your life. I have endowed you with something that will bring life in any situation, pronouncing on another the better way – the way of the cross – the way of your Lord –the way that is sound and brings forth great hope.

I am telling you that many of you are in a mode whereby you have nothing to offer. We are about to enter into an era when you will see that your life is at odds with Mine in a severe fashion. When this occurs, if not before, you must lay aside your ways, and follow after My ways. You must lay aside your claims to happiness and seek after My will for you.

I am telling you that time is of the essence. Be informed this day that the Holy Master has spoken and is calling you to lay aside all that is not of Him, and step into the peace of heart that I have to offer one who serves Me. But if you continue in this mode of self, you will find yourself wanting sorely, beloved, because you will have nothing – absolutely nothing – to offer when this time of reckoning occurs and mankind is standing at the threshold of decision!!!

From Fran

I had a vision tonight. I saw a multitude of people with their hands and arms outstretched upward toward the Lord. I saw HIM reaching down to them with POWER in HIS hands, power to breakthrough, power to overcome and power to do what man CANNOT possibly do! I also saw manna from heaven falling and it was like blessings being bestowed upon HIS people. I saw windows of heaven being opened wide and saw the breeze of the HOLY Spirit blowing through the windows. As it was blowing, I saw a heart beating and beating and beating LOUDLY and I heard thunder. Then I heard God say...My heart is beating for MY people, My Beloved Ones! See My heart is REAL and it does beat deeply for you! I do indeed provide manna and everything YOU need! I tear down walls, I tear down barriers, so that there is nothing that will hinder our union! I have opened the windows of heaven, so that I could breathe on YOU more than just manna and more than you need! I breathe upon your spirits and make you WHOLE! Now is a time to ask and expect more than you have been willing to ask and expect from Me before! Are you ready to receive what I have in store for each one of you tonight, for I am willing and more than able to do more than you can ever imagine! I AM pouring out on you MY LOVE! MY PEACE! MY JOY! MY PRESENCE! And there won't be any mistaking where this came from! Are you ready to receive? Are you ready?

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Exodus 16:4 Then the LORD said to Moses, "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow My instructions.

2 Samuel 5:20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

Psalm 18:6, 9, 13, 15-16 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears...He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under His feet...The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave His voice; hail stones and coals of fire...Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at Thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of Thy nostrils. He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.

Psalm 91:14-16 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

When I was enabled with the gift of having visions and prophetic dreams I saw this vision during the middle of the night...

I was sitting up in my room confused because I was woken up after I went to bed and right in front of my face was Jesus standing by my side and I just stared and started speaking in tongues and stuff and eventually I cried and this light like I have never seen before then or after permeated my room and He just stood there and didn't say a word throughout the whole thing and I just need to know what that could mean. I have no idea whether or not it was a really realistic dream or for real or what. Please help!!! :help:

Your vision is certainly real! Shows that even when you don't hear Jesus speaking to you or when He may seem distant and you don't feel His presence...He your Sovereign Lord, is actually right by your side, caring for you, lighting His Will and Way whatever you may be going through! Would also say this vision is also an exhortation to read your Bible diligently, as God's Word is a lamp unto your feet, a light unto your path! :D The more you hide His Word in your heart, the brighter your path will be! ;) The brilliant light that you experienced would symbolize Christ's winsome, trustworthy character! In Him is no darkness (no evil) at all! Follow His lead! Walk in the light as He is in the light!

Here is my dream:

I am sitting in a church towards the back but in an isle seat. There is several male church leaders in the front of the church. They ask if anyone would like prayer, to come forward. A woman dressed in a beautiful long white dress comes immediately forward for prayer. As soon as they start praying for her she goes down in the spirit. As soon as she goes down, the people in the first couple of rows gasp and say, "she's anorexic". It seems that when she goes down, that her legs are then exposed and they are like skeleton legs. There was no other indication that she was sick or sickly prior to her going down in the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit starts speaking to me about Ezekial 37 and the Valley of the dry bones. I open my bible and am furiously turning to the passage. Before I can get there, a leader (or Pastor) appears at my side and says, "I feel you have something to share and you should come forward". Of course, I prepare to go forward.

That is the end of the dream.

I have had several people give their interpretations and I have definitely have some insight. However, the Lord continues to bring fresh revelation and I would appreciate any impression you get from the Lord on this.

Blessings,

Swift Eagle,

As we know, interpretation belongs to the Lord.

The woman wearing white appears to be symbolic of a pure bride and I believe is the Bride of Christ. This dream would seem to expose the Bride of Christ's need of both prayer and of the Word of God. Jesus repeated spoke of the Word as Bread. Much of the Body of Christ is 'anorexic' for lack of bread or studying the Word. Dry bones would also suggest that she is in need of Jesus- the Living Water. She knew she was in need of prayer so she rushed up when the offer was given.

She needs to know that it is IN Christ that She lives and moves and has Her being. It is His Word, His Water and His love that She is lacking and in great need of.

I believe the Lord gave you Ez 37 to pray over His Church in intercession. The Body of Christ as a whole is in need of revitalizing. As you have been given this assignment to pray, it is my prayer that you do it with diligence! I pray all who read this will join you!

May our voices be heard, O God! Incline Your ear to Swift Eagle and all who join in prayer. Cause Your breath to enter Your Bride to live! Then the Bride shall know that You are the LORD. Come from the four winds O breath and come into Your Bride and let Her live. Place your Spirit in Her, LORD God Almighty, LORD of hosts!!! Let the world know that Your Holy Spirit dwells in Her and that You have made a covenant of peace with Her! Amen

In Christ

Thank you Praiser! Your interpretation is very similar to the others but with additional revelation! I have done prayer walking through my community with the Ezekiel 37 passage since receiving this dream and continue in intercession!

Sweet Shalom swifteagle! Here are three different perspectives for your pondering...

1) Since there were several male leaders at the front, this could address the 'no women preacher' mindset that I believe is utterly legalistic and chauvinistic! An anorexic may starve themselves in a hopeful attempt to draw more love from others. Hence the woman's skeleton legs show just how loveless and unsupportive is the 'no women pastor' doctrine, as it starves the Body of Christ from receiving fresh loving, living manna through women! In some churches, the vehement prohibition of no women in leadership has spoken a spiritual death of sorts to many women with a true Divine Calling on their lives to preach the Word, to pastor, and to move in other prophetic gifts! The woman being slain in the spirit could symbolize men in the church trying to coerce women into silence. You at the back ready with a Word and being acknowledged could indicate that God be breathing new life into women, bringing them to the forefront and resurrecting their ministries and Divine destinies!

2) Believing the anorexic woman could also represent superficial, vainglorious Christians that try to hide their true spiritual depravity. With only an outward appearance of righteousness (the beautiful long white dress), they vaingloriously draw attention to themselves (getting slain at the altar). But because they have chosen to starve themselves (skeleton legs) from the spiritual meat of the Word, they do not have the wisdom to realize their performance is obviously showy and to others makes them look foolish, spiritually unwell. You at the back signifies your humility and surely bringing them the Word will cure their spiritual malnutrition and pride!

3) The woman in the dress could represent the church that has tried to conform more to the multimedia world rather than to Christ. Some churches are glitzy with services that are entertaining and thrilling, yet void of spiritual sustenance. You at the back with a ready Word seemingly foretells that God be bringing His living and powerful Word to the forefront! He is ready to give authentic performances of His Word...to resurrect those who are spiritually dead and dry! :amen:

This wonderful dream comes from Rev Frances Babij...

I was in a huge room. It was palatial in it's size with ceilings at least 20 or 30 feet high. The room itself was bare. It had dark wood floors and was dark and cold in spite of the light coming in from the huge windows. I looked around and saw a large white brocade wingback arm chair in the corner all by itself but as I started to look closer a man walked up to me and I looked away. He was chirpy and reminded me of a salesman because he talked so fast and was so smooth saying all the right words. He talked for a moment and my attention drifted to the chair again. There was a man sitting in it. As I looked at him he looked at me and my heart began to race and I could feel butterflies in my stomach. He was beautiful, at least as beautiful as a man can be, he looked like some sort of English noble. He had perfectly trimmed sandy blonde hair and deep rich golden hazel eyes. He sat perfectly straight with his arms resting on the thick arms of the chair and his broad shoulders fitting perfectly between the sides of the chair. He was wearing a white tailored dress suit with the jacket open to show his buttoned up vest and white shirt collar. His legs were neatly crossed at the knee and he had white leather shoes laced up tightly. He looked so out of place but so stately. He looked like he belonged in this place once but that it had not been very well taken care of. I continued to stare at him and he back at me. I could feel so much love and passion being directed to me that all I wanted to do was go over to him. I started to walk to him but the other man walked with me and began to take me on a tour. He was still talking fast as if trying to sell me something and I turned away from the man in white so I could see where I was going. We began to walk through huge rooms like the previous one only they were all bright and looked like the rooms of a palace. Suddenly I realized they were preparing for an auction. They were showing people around trying to increase the desire to bid. There were gold fixtures and accents everywhere and rich plush fabrics and rugs. There was marble, rare expensive woods, art, and antiques. There were people in front of me all laughing and talking and admiring the richness and beauty as they toured. They all had sheets of paper in their hands and were checking off the things they wanted.

As we walked I would occasionally look over my shoulder and the man in white was quietly walking behind me. He looked sad but still walked tall and straight and had his hands clasped behind his back. He would look at me and smile softly and I would feel the butterflies in my stomach again and wanted to run to his side but each time the salesman would grab my attention again and make me look at something.

The tour went on for a while and everything was so magnificent and the people in front of me continued to act as if they were at a society cocktail party. Finally we arrived back at the room we started in and the salesman promptly left my side to go welcome somebody else and I was finally alone with the man in white. He was sitting in his chair again but now I noticed his chair was tattered and worn in places. It didn't look as nice as it had before. I looked up at the ceiling and there were exposed water pipes running along the ceiling and the ceiling and walls were painted an odd shade of blue green. I walked around examining everything and as I got to the wall I noticed there were huge oriental rugs in all different designs and colors hung from the moulding and hanging down the length of the walls to the floor. I turned around to see if there were more and they covered the walls except for a small section that revealed a large window. I turned around and expected to see him in his chair but instead he was standing by my side. He seemed to already know what I was going to ask him and replied softly. " They put them up on the walls to try and keep it warm in here. They hoped it wouldn't look so empty in here if they did that."

I sensed such a deep sadness I wanted to cry and I asked him "What happened? Have you gone bankrupt? Are you in debt? Why are you selling everything?"

"No I'm not bankrupt…….I have more than they will ever know about. I'm not selling these things either. They can have whatever they want if they just ask me."

"I don't understand….these are your things……this is your house……why don't you stop them?"

I began to cry and he pulled me close and held me in His arms and spoke softly to me.

"They don't want me in there. I go in when somebody brings me like you did but the rest of the time I wait here. They want my things and they admit that it all belongs to me……but I live here. I gave them those things anyway so they can have all that they want, I won't stop them."

" ..but it's so cold and lonely in here."

"Not when you're with me"

He then kissed my head and squeezed me tightly and then I woke up.

The above dream doesn't need an interpretation, though here is my reply...

Fran!

Really appreciate that you shared this dream! Very heartwarming! Certainly describes Jesus to be the meek and mild Gentleman of all gentlemans! Quietly waiting for people to acknowledge Him, to recognize their need for Him, and invite Him into their hearts and even their moments! Christ following behind you shows He is with a person wherever they go in their distractions (things and activities less worthy, less enduring than He), yet He patiently waits to be given the conversation ball. Though our Lord knows what is best, He graciously does not force Himself, nor His Will upon others, yet woos them with His heart full of such holy passion! He wasn't speaking to you, yet you were strongly drawn to Him! Wow! The power of true love! Notice when you were at Jesus' side, that is when He started opening up His heart to you...giving you understanding as to the deception of materialism!

The obvious differences between our Lord and the salesman...

Our Lord eager to freely give His all for you at no cost to you!

The salesman, in self-ambition and greed, was trying to sell you low quality at a high price.

Our Lord focused on sincerely loving you and winning your heart! He stirred your heart for one thing...more of Him who endures!

The salesman charmed you to get only your money. He stirred your flesh for many temporal things.

Our Lord fixed His eyes (His heart) on you and made your eyes (your heart) fix on His eyes (His heart)!

The salesman fixed his eyes (his heart) on earthly things and made your eyes (your heart) fix on earthly things too.

Our Lord shown to be a man of few words, yet had great wisdom that would benefit you!

The salesman was a smooth fast talker, scheming for selfish gain.

Our Lord stayed faithfully with you, showing ardor to be in ongoing relationship with you!

The salesman left to charm someone else.

Applicable Bible verses:

Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 10:38-42 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."

Luke 12:15 And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses."

1 Timothy 6:17-19 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Wonderful Words of wisdom and encouragement...! :D

More Are The Children of The Desolate by George Davis and Michael Clark

This article is a message of hope for all who have felt that bit of panic as you see the end of your years coming, with little fruit to show for it. You had such hope for your life but look at you now. Jesus has promised you great fruitfulness. He chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain (see John 15:16), but now, in the declining years of your life, you feel more spiritually barren than ever. To make things worse, even your natural strength is failing you. Take heart, for you are in extremely good company. You are not the first one to have felt this way. In fact, those heirs of the promise that brought forth the greatest fruit unto God were in similar situations. The promise is not to the expert. The race does not go to the swift, nor the battle to the strong (see Ecclesiastes 9:11). Those who wait upon the Lord, not charging on ahead in their own strength, but remaining ready and available for His use, will be given a source of strength unknown to the mighty and noble. THEY will run and not grow weary.

God's principle of fruitfulness is strikingly set out in Isaiah 54:1-2.

Sing, barren, you who didn't bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, says Yahweh. (2) Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations; don't spare: lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. (WEB)

How could the desolate have more children than the married wife? This is a natural impossibility, and that is the point exactly. The path of the Lord runs straight through the impossible every time, and often seems to lead directly away from the blessing He has promised us. Like dear departed Lazarus who was beyond the realm of all natural help and hope, wrapped in grave clothes and rotting in his tomb, God shuts us up unto faith awaiting the call to come forth unto Him. He IS Himself the resurrection and the life. If we could resurrect ourselves from the dead then we might be able, by our own strength, to bring forth fruit unto God. But between the promise and the provision is a place of dead barrenness--a place where our natural strength fails us--a place of waiting in hope for resurrection life.

A dear brother recently told us, "Things in the Kingdom of God are not DONE, they are BIRTHED." God made a covenant with Abraham and his Seed. In that regard He elected to bring about His purposes through the natural process of begetting and birthing, a natural figure of the spiritual birthing. The Bible genealogies record the long line of begotten ones through whom He birthed His first begotten Son, Jesus, into the world, through the womb of one who knew no husband.

As a Son, Jesus came bringing the revelation of God as FATHER. We must not pass this lightly. God is called Father because He is the begetter. Just as in the natural, what the Father does not beget is not His offspring. Those fruits that are born out of man's strength and ingenuity are not acceptable to Him. Paul wrote, "not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God" (2 Corinthians 3:5). To know God as Father IS to know Him as the progenitor of all things.

The first verb in the New Testament is (gennao) begat. "Abraham begat Isaac." That sounds fairly simple and painless doesn't it? But the birth of Isaac was a supernatural birth that tested the limits of Abraham's patience and faith. Abraham and Sarah are a natural figure of the spiritual process God still uses to birth His purposes through yielded vessels.

Not far from our homes in Idaho is a little town called Hope. Just past Hope on state highway 200 is another little community appropriately named Beyond Hope. Before God fulfilled His promise of fruitfulness to Abraham and Sarah He first brought them to a place beyond all natural hope. Abraham was one hundred years old and Sarah was barren, but to make things worse, at ninety years old, she also was well past the age of bearing children.

God gave Abraham an incredible promise of fruitfulness. ". . .in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the seashore. Your seed will possess the gate of his enemies." O boy! It's onward and upward from here, right? All Abraham and Sarah had to do was come together and nine months later--NOT!

Between the promise and the provision stood the impotence of Abraham and the barren womb of Sarah. In fact, barrenness was a tradition in Abraham's family; a tradition established by God. The women most favored were often those who were barren and the children of promise were those born of barren women, such as Sarah the mother of Isaac (Genesis 11:30), Rebekah the mother of Jacob (Gen 25:21) and Rachael the mother of Joseph (Gen 30:1). All of these women were barren and certainly all of these sons were special. From one man, who was already considered dead, there arose a race as numerous as the stars, as countless as the sands of the sea-shore. More are the children of the desolate!

Then there was another special woman named Hannah, of whom we shall speak in more depth later. For now, suffice it to say that Hannah reveals, in a special way, the divine purpose of barrenness, "for the Lord had shut up her womb" to this mysterious end. (See 1 Samuel
1:5).

Back to Abraham

God had promised Abraham great fruitfulness. Years passed and still no seed. From a natural perspective, things were looking awfully bleak. However, there was one more trick up Sarah's sleeve. Sarah had an Egyptian bondmaid named Hagar. If a wife was barren in those days her bondmaid could have offspring for her. In desperation Sarah sent Abraham into Hagar. After all, Abraham couldn't sit there and do nothing could he? Hagar conceived and brought forth a son, who they named Ishmael. O boy! Finally some fruit! Doubtless, Abraham thought that Ishmael was the son of promise. He had to be! For all other avenues were closed, RIGHT? No! God had chosen Sarah, the barren one, not Hagar. Although God loved him, this child of Hagar could not be the son of promise. Therefore, God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but her name will be Sarah. I WILL BLESS her, and moreover I WILL GIVE YOU A SON by her. Yes, I WILL BLESS her, and she will be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her."

It was at this point that Abraham did something unbecoming the father of the faith. He "fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, 'Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?'" Because of the seeming impossibility of God's promise, Abraham pleaded, "Oh that Ishmael might live before you!" God's answer came immediately, "No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac (laughter)." (Genesis 17:15-19) It seemed that God was getting the last laugh.

Now consider Jacob and Rachel. Rachel also was barren and in her desperation she cried out to Jacob, "Give me children, or else I die," Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel and he said, "Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?" (Genesis 30:2, NKJV). Rachel followed in Sarah's example and in desperation, cried out to Jacob instead of to God. Her answer to him was, "Behold, my maid Bilhah. Go in to her, that she may bear on my knees, and I also may obtain children by her" (Genesis 30:2-3 WEB) In His time God, by His mercy, remembered Rachel and opened her womb. She conceived and brought forth Joseph, another miracle offspring (Genesis 30:1). Like Sarah, Rachel tried to fulfill God's promise through her own ingenuity with this son born of Bilhah the slave. His name was Dan. It is interesting that when the tribes of Israel are listed in the book of Revelation, Dan is not mentioned, but Joseph is. God only honors those sons that He gives. He only blesses the offspring that are born of barren wombs, beyond all hope of natural productivity.

Let's sum up for a moment, that we might see the principle of barrenness. God gave a promise, but between the promise and the provision was a barren womb. Sarah tried to contravene the process by sending Abraham into the Egyptian bondmaid, but her offspring was unacceptable to God. Sarah and Abraham had created their own promised son, which they proudly offered up to God. God rejected Ishmael. Abraham begged God to reconsider, for in his mind there was no other way that the son of promise could come. But God had purposed that the provision should come through barrenness so that no flesh could glory in His presence.

Here we see an example and admonition for the church today. God gives a promise and then waits. He waits to see if we will wait. He waits to see if we will trust Him as FATHER or attempt to bring the promise to pass through our own virility.

How often do we come to God offering our Ishmael, the offspring of our flesh, only to hear that eternal "NO"? Yet we continue to beg God to allow our Ishmael to live in His sight. We go about producing the offspring of Hagar that are in bondage with all of her children. (See Galatians 4:21-31). How much of what is done today in the name of God is the product of flesh and leads to legalism and bondage? How much of our praying before God, to bless our doings, is no different than Abraham's pleading, "Oh that Ishmael might live before you," and it, too, falls on deaf ears? We come up with a good idea, put it into action by our own strength and then ask God to bless it. We see this happening on every front of Christendom. Flesh can only beget flesh and bondage can only birth greater bondage.

The travail of soul that comes out of barrenness and knowing that the provision is beyond the innovations of our flesh, but requires a miracle from heaven, is a rarity. All the religious works of religious man put together cannot compare to the fruit of one life that has been shut up unto barrenness, shut up unto faith and in patience inheriting the promise. Indeed, ". . .more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife. . ." God chooses the weak things of this world to confound the mighty.

God makes sure that nothing of our flesh can glory in His presence. We might persuade thousands to follow us and put their energies into our movement or program, but if God does not father it, it will all come to naught. Someone once said the definition of an insane man is one who keeps doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. When will we ever learn that "He doesn't delight in the strength of the horse. He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man" (Psalm 147:10)? "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them (who rely on the Lord? See verse 8) whose heart is perfect toward Him" (see 2 Chronicles 16:9). He desires us to experience the impotence of our flesh that we will no longer put any confidence in it. "In my flesh dwells no good thing."

This brings us to Hannah

Hannah was also barren, but she seemed to understand the necessity and purpose of barrenness in a way that none of these other women had. Perhaps she had seen the error of Sarah and Rachel who attempted to fulfill the promise by the fleshly means of sending their husbands into their bondmaids. The example Of Hannah stands alone in that she neither looked to her husband, as Rachel had, saying, "Give me children, or else I die," nor did she turn to a bondmaid to remove the shame of her barrenness. Instead she came to the door-post of the tabernacle and poured out her soul to the only One Who could open her womb. She seemed to see prophetically, and out of this clarity of vision and travail of soul was born the greatest prophet of Israel, Samuel.

This is extremely significant. Hannah recognized that her barrenness was given by God to accomplish some greater end. Figuratively speaking, have you ever had the Lord shut up your womb? Have you ever prayed in desperation, "Give me children, or else I die"? Have you considered that those times in your life when you are the most barren are appointed by God as a test to see if you will seek to do spiritual works in your flesh? Our driest spiritual seasons are often followed by the greatest periods of growth. It's true! It is in such times that we are invited to travail in prayer to our heavenly husband. But if we are not careful, we will seek to remove our shame vicariously, like Sarah and Rachel, through fleshly handmaidens.

In His mercy, God brings us to a place beyond our natural capabilities as He did with Elisabeth the mother of John the Baptist, who was well stricken in years (Luke 1:7), beyond the time of childbearing. That "the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us" (see 2 Corinthians 4:7).

The Lord had shut up Hannah's womb. "She wept, and did not eat." Her husband, Elkanah, asked her the reason. "Why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?" he asked (1 Samuel 1:8 WEB). Even the love of her husband could not diminish her desire to bring forth his fruit into the earth. She did not turn to her natural husband but to her heavenly husband.

Off to Shiloh she went, where Eli the priest was sitting on his seat by the door-post of the tabernacle. There, in the shame of her barrenness, she poured out her soul to the Lord. The Lord heard her cry and gave her a son, who she named Samuel. In this instance the old adage is true that the seed does not fall far from the tree. For we see in Hannah's response a prophetic clarity and understanding of the ways of God that rivals any prophet.

You will remember that the birth of Samuel was impossible of realization along the ordinary line of nature, but his mother Hannah entered into a spiritual travail concerning him. While in that spiritual travail, while before the Lord in strong crying and tears for this man-child, the other wife of her husband laughed at her, sneered at her, looked down upon her. She had children, Hannah had none, and was despised; and then by a special intervention and act of God that spiritual travail was answered and Samuel was born. Born, on the one hand, out of travail in her soul, on the other hand, born out of a direct act of God in His Divine intervention when man was helpless, and nature was impotent. (T. Austin Sparks, Because of the Blood of the Lamb)

After Samuel was born, Hannah prayed, and said: "My heart exults in Yahweh; my horn is exalted in Yahweh; my mouth is enlarged over my enemies; because I rejoice in your salvation. There is none holy as Yahweh; for there is none besides you, neither is there any rock like our God. Talk no more so exceeding proudly; don't let arrogance come out of your mouth; for Yahweh is a God of knowledge, by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty men are broken; those who stumbled are girded with strength. Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread; those who were hungry have ceased to hunger: Yes, the barren has borne seven; she who has many children languishes" (1 Samuel 2:1-5). Hannah understood something that Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel did not. She understood God's principle of fruitfulness. "More are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife."

The travail of Hannah typifies so well the deep yearning within the hearts of so many of God's children today, who desire above all else to bring forth fruit unto God! More than any other people, these are aware of their barrenness. They have learned not to cover the shame of their barrenness with the works of their hands. Unlike Abraham, they know that to go into Hagar is to bring forth fruit unto the flesh and unto bondage and that such fruit is forever at enmity with God's purposes. Isaiah did rightly prophesy:

Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely upon his God. Look, all you who kindle a fire, who encircle yourselves with sparks: Walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled--this you shall have from My hand: You shall lie down in torment. (Isaiah 50:10, 11, NKJV).

The saints of God who know His heart understand that the fig leaves of the flesh can never cover the shame of their barrenness. They have learned that Ishmael is unacceptable in God's sight. They know that God will not allow the son of the bondwoman to inherit with the son of the promise (see Galatians 4). They understand, as Paul did, that it is out of weakness that Christ's strength is made perfect in them. They know that it is out of barrenness and travail of soul that God births the Isaacs, Jacobs, Josephs and Samuels through whom the promise, purpose and provision of His kingdom comes upon the earth.

These are they who travail before the Lord in strong crying and tears for the man-child--for that divine expression of Christ in the earth. There will always be those who laugh at the seeming barrenness of these travailing ones who wait upon the Lord and His creation to come forth. Like Elkanah's other wife, these scoffers have brought forth many children in their own strength and are content in their fruitfulness. Never mind that their offspring persecute God's children of promise. These look down upon all those whom they perceive to have lesser fruit. God not only seeks a seed that are more than the number of the stars in heaven, but he seeks a godly seed that will bring forth glory to Him with their lives. The carnal do not understand the fruit that is born, on the one hand, out of travail of soul and on the other hand, out of a direct act of God "when man was helpless, and nature was impotent."

The story of Hannah gives us a natural picture that perfectly corresponds to the spiritual reality of the law of travail. In Revelation 12, we read of a woman that enters into this spirit of travail. In her labor she brings forth a man-child (a mature child), which we believe is a figure of the bringing forth of a remnant company--a prophetic company. This prophetic community, living by the spirit of Christ, speaking those things they hear the Father speaking, doing those things they see the Father doing, are those who are caught up unto God and to His throne. It is this company that Satan, the red dragon, is eager to devour. There are those who are travailing for the birth of the man-child. We meet them nearly everywhere we go. They are like Hannah in that they do not turn to earthly husbands or to fleshly bondmaids but come to God in travail of soul, asking for a man-child for His service, for Hannah gave the child to the service of the Lord from the time Samuel was weaned. These are often mocked, as Hannah was, by those who are like Elkanah's other wife or, even worse, by the priests of our day. Eli accused Hannah of being drunk as she prayed. Christendom today knows little about travail and is smug and contented in its vast mediocrity, bringing forth children unto itself, after its own image.

If you are a part of this Hannah-company, travailing before the Lord for this man-child, know this: it wasn't until his old age that Simeon held the infant Christ, the first begotten of the Father, that he had prayed and waited for his entire life. Let's not settle for lesser fruit. Let's not substitute the empty offspring of religion for the reality of the mature Christ child, the fullness of Him who fills all things. Let us not carve out once again broken cisterns for ourselves while we reject the flow that can only come from the Fountain of Living Water.

It is not until the womb of our flesh is closed, and our souls are poured out, that we will know true fruitfulness. So what should we say to those who minister in Ishmael-like strength, who ask, "So what is God doing in your life?" Perhaps this would be a good answer. "Nothing! God has closed my womb! I am just being barren before the Lord, pouring out my soul, knowing that what He has promised He will do! I have no desire to fabricate anything. I have no following, nor do I desire one! I have no church building and receive no tithe. I have no titles, no office, and no honor in my family or in my country. But I have a promise and He is faithful who has made it!"

By today's standard we are truly barren, but by God's standard we are like Hannah, for we are not ashamed of our barrenness but are aware that any fruit in our lives is His, not ours. Therefore, we are not ashamed, nor will we be, for God has promised! And what is more, when it seems like time is running out, and we are well past the time of childbearing we remember these words of David, "He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!" (Psalms 113:9). I am what I am by the grace of God!

Though all the facts around us are like scoffers, mocking the disparity between the promise given and the realities of our lives, we know that He is faithful who has promised. Has the Lord given you exceedingly great and precious promises for which you have waited beyond any reasonable time of fulfillment? Don't give up dear ones! Continue to wait in faith! Don't try to fulfill the promise through the innovations or energies of your flesh! For you can no more bring about the promise through your own energies than you could, by these same energies, form a soul and breathe the breath of life into it.

Giving birth is a miracle surpassing any other biological function. All you have to do is sit in on a birth to know this. In His wisdom, the God, who opened the womb of Sarah and Rachel and closed the womb of Hannah for a season, is Himself the prime Mover in inception, conception, development and delivery of all that He promises, desires and commands in and through our lives. He is all and in all! He is Himself the provision we seek. We often do not appreciate the fruit that comes effortlessly, and without thought through an intimate and abiding relationship with the Lord after our womb has been closed-- until we have been shut up with Him for a season.

When our words and deeds seem to fall flat before us, we are most tempted to fake it and keep up the outer appearance of fruitfulness. If we learn to cease from our labors and enter into His rest (see Hebrews chapter four) rather than performing some fleshly ritual to our own god of fertility, we will see the promise come to pass in the fullness of the Son.

From a divine perspective barrenness is a necessity if we are to be brought to the end of our fleshly strength. God will resist all our attempts to circumvent our barrenness until we have given up all hope of ever producing His fruit by our fleshly efforts. Until then the words of Christ mean nothing, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:6). Flesh is flesh and Spirit is spirit and never the twain shall meet. All that flesh can produce, regardless of how noble it may appear, is still flesh. The goodness of the flesh and the decadence of the flesh are the same to God. They are both flesh and the flesh profits nothing. God has chosen those who are weak, foolish, ignoble and barren to confound the mighty and the wise "that no flesh should glory in His presence" (See 1 Corinthians 1:29). Only the life-giving Spirit can produce spiritual fruit.

"Sing, barren. . .for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife."
