As an 18 year old student I am now legally classified as an adult.

However, I have only tasted the sweet and sour of what life has to offer.

What life lessons have you learnt in your older and wiser days?

Life Lessons through the Word:

Psalm 19:7, 14 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple...May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

Proverbs 3:3-6 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 4:5-7 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

Proverbs 9:10-11 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.

Psalm 37:3-6 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Ephesians 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

James 3:17-18 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

That to forgive... not only releases the other person.. but me too..

Unforgiveness holds one in bondage.. to forgive is freedom..

We don't have to fear about letting them off because instead we become free .. forgiveness is giving God the burden instead and then what happens to them is no longer something we need worry about!! The freedom God brings to us.. even helps us to love them.. and desire mercy for them... For love truly covers over even the worst sins..

Matthew 18:21-22
[ The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant ] Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times


Matthew 6:15
But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.


1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
