John 14:6 says "Jesus replied, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father except by Me."
I had never heard this Bible verse and the thought had never crossed my mind that there was a specific way to get to heaven before the night of Novemeber 6, 1992.
My name is Teresa. I would like to share with you a little bit about my life. I say "a little bit about my life", but really it is a huge thing in my life. It changed my life forever, literally! I was a great kid growing up. I was very well behaved, had lots of friends, liked to do things for others, you know, a good kid. My family went to church and sunday school regularly, I was baptized, and I went through confirmation. Little did I know that none of it mattered. My good behavior didn't matter, my church attendance didn't matter, my baptism and confirmation didn't matter either!! In fact, I was on my way to hell.
Until November 6, 1992. I was at a church retreat and this little old man was speaking. I don't even remember what he was speaking about. But I do remember this one question he asked. He said, "If you died tonight, do you know where you'd go?". I honestly could not answer that question. I was scared to death! What was going to happen to me?? Well, I went and spoke with someone and they explained to me the greatest story I have ever heard. 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ came to this earth as a baby. He lived a perfect, sinless life only to die for my sin. He became my sin (2 Corinthians 5:21) and was crucified . But it didn't end there! He was buried and 3 days later He rose from the dead!! Jesus Christ had victory over death. All I had to do to secure my ticket to heaven, was believe. It is that simple. Believe that He died for my sin and that He rose again. That night I believed and I asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sin and become my savior.
From that point on my life was changed. I was a new person!! Now I desire to grow and learn more about Him. I also want to tell others about what He did for me. He did it for you too. All you have to do is believe. So will you?
