It is neither our right nor our privilege to tell the State how they will deal with a blatant murderer (Romans 13:1-5). Instead, it is our responsibility to teach our children (as well as practise conscientiously ourselves) to behave in such a manner such that any legitimate government would see our actions as worthy of commending rather than worthy of death.

Assuming that Jared Loughner is found guilty, should he receive the death penalty or should he spend the rest of his life in jail?
I think they should find out exactly what is wrong with him first. If he has mental issues, he needs help.

Whether hes mental or not ...he killed a man. God told Noah in Gen.9:5,6 5. Surely I will require your lifeblood, from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every mans brother, I will require the life of man. 6. Whoever sheds mans blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.
If you recall, Cain when he murdered his brother Abel, he was allowed to live. There is also an example in the bible where Cain is used as an example for getting away with killing someone and not being held more accountable for his actions (Gen.4:23,24) the world became so violent because of the unaccountablity God sent the flood. Man was held accountable for murder after the flood. There are also provisions made for accidental death.

That's a loaded question. The Bible does condone the death penalty. I in general have a problem with it only because DNA testing has found many executed people were innocent. His crime was unspeakable and amazing. He obviously has mental issues. Arizona is a state that doesn't allow "not guilty due to insanity pleas." A criminal can be found insane at the time of his crime. He's sentenced to a mental hospital but when he's been treated, instead of sending him home, he goes to prison for the length of his sentence. His age also makes me cringe at the thought of executing him. These are my opinions and probably not worth much but you got them. God bless.

## IMO (being a foreigner) he should get the DP, definitely. OTOH, it needs to be humane and quick - by lethal injection, or a bullet. He did kill a judge, and a child.

Assuming he's found guilty; assuming he's found sane; and assuming he did this terrible deed with aforethought and intention to kill - justice demands he be put to death.

The more we coddle perpetrators, particularly extremely violent ones, treating them as victims, society loses due to its inability or unwillingness to dispense justice, let alone recognize it.

The man obviously has psychological issues. Not that that excuses what he did in the least, but I think it should have some bearing on the outcome of the trial. I hope they give him life without parole. Just my opinion though. I believe whatever decision they come to will be fair and just.

Here is something you may not know. The so-called 'life without parole' sentence can, and in fact has, been negated by a single signature. A man in California who was sentenced to life without parole for killing his wife in order to collect her life insurance and marry another woman (she didn't know he was already married) is now living with that other woman in Nevada.

Huh? What world do you live in?

Not of this world, that is for sure.

(Joh 18:36) Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

(Joh 15:18) If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
(Joh 15:19) If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

What world do you live in John?
