  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Indeed. Clones are just identical twins of the original who have a different birthday.

I don't know. I just feel it is terribly wrong. I would treat my clone as a biological robot. I won't hesitate to kill "it", if necessary.

Seems like religious people just want to assume life is a "philosophical" thing instead of a scientific one so they can go about with their fingers in their ears yelling "la la la! I can't hear you science! God did it! God did it! God did it!"

We are finding out more and more about our natural world and the need for any supernatural cause for things like lightening, diseases, fire, and life itself is getting more and more useless.

Seems like religion would rather us just not try to figure anything out. Let's all just shrug our shoulders can say "oh it's just another mystery of God!"

Personally I'd much rather figure out how things actually work than to just live in the dark so that my pretend gods can maintain their mysterious control over the natural world.

Didn't they use to think math was evil because it was "man dabbling in the workings of god" or something way back when?

Unfortunately some people today have the same idea:
Math is Bad, Because it isn't Christian! : Good Math, Bad Math

Oh I found something:
"The library [of Alexandria] was subsequently destroyed by Julius Caesar, by Christian fanatics, and finally, by the Moslem caliph, Omar; Caesar burned the library as a military maneuver while fighting the Egyptians; the Christians destroyed the library because they were afraid it glorified paganism; caliph Omar is famous for his profound arrogance when he said that the contents of the library should be destroyed because if the manuscripts agreed with the teachings of Mohammed, they were redundant and need not be preserved and if they disagreed with the teachings of Mohammed, they were pernicious and should be destroyed."

That is perhaps where you come from. But what about your spiritual journey now?

"The library [of Alexandria] was subsequently destroyed by Julius Caesar,
The library at Alexandria was sold to pay for war debts. Anything destruction was just a cover up.
The only books that were destroyed were books they could not sell and turn into money.

Would you hesitate to kill your twin brother?

We can not treat human clone as a human. The origin is different.

This is just a guess, I have no idea on what it really could be. I think my clone would not have a human soul. As a result, he is not a human. May be it has an animal soul? And the sinful nature would not apply to the clone.

So, I might feel no worse to kill my clone than to kill my dog.

Wow. I'm soooooo glad that you True Christians have a superior Moral Compass than us agnostics and atheists do... otherwise you could make excuses for killing people, just because they were born different. Sure glad THAT would never happen!

I wonder if you'd still feel the same after actually meeting this hypothetical person.

I do not like to kill ants. Even my son will get his mom if he finds a spider. They are all a part of God's creation.
You'd make a great Jain ^_^
